You could try putting her kibble in a Buster Cube. I used to do that with Lady to slow her down. She'd eat so fast she would bloat up and vomit if I didn't burp her like a baby. It's really slowed her down when she had to push her Buster Cube around to get the kibble. I am so glad Krissy is okay. I can't imagine how scary that was. |
Oh wow! I didn't even know that could happen! I'm so glad she's okay now. :) |
I am so glad it isn't anything serious. |
OK I'm gonna have a heart attack with the way Krissy is acting. We had dinner and my grandson didn'y know what was going on and he gave each dog a piece of pork roast. Krissy got so excited she fell down with her tongue hanging out. I yelled Krissy and she jumped up like what mom?? I swear tomorrow I'm gonna put out tons of food and if she overeats it will be better than this. It is just to scary!!!! Somehow I have to get her back to the way she was a few weeks ago when she just knew the food was there and didn't worry about it. |
Glad that she is ok. Oh boy her inner fat girl comes out when dinner come around. Poor baby. Just glad that she is ok and you can slow your heart rate. |
oh wow glad to hear shes better... |
So glad she is alright!! |
Poor little girl..... I'm just now seeing this - I'm sorry I missed it, but am glad to hear that Krissy isn't facing any type of serious illness.... But can you imagine?? Sweet girl.... like she's having panic attacks... anxiety over her food...... precious thing.... BRING ON THE BACON and give that girl a platter full!!! hahaha..... I agree with Miss Krissy... diets are overrated!! ;) Seriously though.... how scary that must be for you to see her like that.... I hope all returns to normal soon... wish I had some wonderful advice for you, but I just don't have a clue as to what to suggest. Anxiety medication maybe?? Just temporarily? Will be watching for updates.... kiss that little face for me! |
Have you tried feeding her somewhere private like the bathroom with the door closed so she can feel secure. At first I'm sure she'd still gobble it down but after awhile it might be calming for her. Just a thought. |
OK update on Krissy, I filled the bowl with the normal food they get again last night and Krissy ate it all and got sick after falling 6 times! I just couldn't watch. Even though the vet said she is fine I didn't get much sleep last night worrying about her. BUT this morning I refilled the bowl and Krissy slowly ate maybe a quarter of the bowl and walked away! I gave her so many kisses and hugs!! I guess if I want her to lose a pound it is longer walks and more running up and down the stairs. She is smelling the bowl of food as I write this just to make sure it is there :( I guess that is why I like the puppies I raised myself no issues at all with them. I couldn\'t find anything on the internet on this but I guess if she is calm she is OK. |
I\'m sorry she gave you such a scare! I had to giggle once I saw that everything was ok. What a little porker! |
Have you thought about some of the really good quality lower fat/calorie foods? Maybe you can give her the same amount, but she can still lose a pound or so? |
They even have low calorie snacks. I bought them once for my grandpup, Harley, a pug with enough weight on him to never eat again. My vet had them. I never heard of such a thing, poor baby. Thank heavens it wasn\'t anything life threatening. Was she a rescue Jeri? |
Wow thats the first time I have ever heard of that. That would have scared the living daylights out of me too. Good thoughts and prayers that she doesnt have any more episodes |
Wow, how scary that must be to watch! I can\'t even imagine..poor little girl.:( |
