| 16 week puppy sick again vomiting and diarrhea I am new here today. My 16 week old, Sachi is sick again. She has been vomiting and having diarrhea. We seem to be living at the vets office these last 2 weeks. They done tests, no parvo and all fecal tests come back negative. Last week they gave her a vitamin B-12 shot and sub-q fluids and metro and Hill's I/D and she got better. Of course the vet that gave her that was not there today, and only gave her an injection for nausea,I think it was metro and a nausea pill but she is still throwing up. Stools are firming up but still not normal. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Syd747 |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm sorry your little one is going through so much. What are you feeding? Have they tested the fecal MORE than once for giardia? Is she still on Metro? Sometimes, you have to take puppies OFF the Metro bc it can be very tough on young puppies - so, while Metro can help in the beginning of therapy, it can actually start to cause problems later. My Marcel was on Metro when he was a puppy and I could NOT figure out what was going on, I was going crazy - looking online - then found THIS - I took it into my vet, we took him off the Metro and *boom*, he started to improve. It's something to consider w/ your Vet.

| Thanks for responding. Sachi has been eating Science Diet Puppy bites from the start. We went to the vet yesterday again and he gave her sub-q fluids along with vitamin B-12 injection and vitamin B-comp injection and cerenia injection. He said to start feeding her Hills I/D today. She seems to be doing a whole lot better. He thinks she has a sensitive stomach and going for her 1st grooming the other day stressed her out and getting her puppy shots the Friday before may have caused her some stress also. Thanks for the information I printed it up and will keep it with her puppy files. Thanks again. Syd |

| Sorry I am new at this and posted an edit to my original message but it said it was over 5 minutes so it could not be done. Anyway to answer the rest of your questions. Yes they did test her fecal twice last week and twice this week and all came back negative. She is no longer on metro, they only gave me 5 days worth last week but I asked again yesterday and they said no not at this time. Thankfully she is feeling much better today. we just introduced her to the I/D and so far so good. Thanks Syd |
