| Should I be worried? Hello everyone. Today when I got home from work, my puppy... Kimbo... was not his usual self. Normally, he goes crazy when he sees me. Jumping all over the place, barking, biting, crying, licking, etc... and he won't leave my side. but today when I got home he did nothing, not even a lick. He just stayed laying down and is acting very sad. I gave him a beggin strip, which he normally devours within seconds... but today he did not even smell it. He is 4 months old... is this something I should be worried about? Should I wait a couple of hours before I really panic? My husband said he is probably tired... but he is never like this. Please help, I am truly worried. ThankYou. |

| It would concern me unless it was an unusual day for him- more active than usual? If everything was as it usually is I'd go ahead and call the vet. It's better to just go ahead and call while they're open and put your mind at rest than to have to make an er visit later tonight. Hope everything is okay with your baby. ETA- stay online or keep checking back because we have a lot of knowedgable people here and I'm sure you'll get some great advice. The only other thing I thought is I'd go ahead and give him some nutrical or kayro syrup in case it's his blood sugar.

| Yes, to make sure his blood sugar is not low, give him that . I would definately watch his behavior. the first signs of unwellness will be through the behavior. He is not vomiting, or runny stools? Check to see if he has a fever too.

| I agree with Nikki. If he had an unusually busy day today, then maybe he is just tired. Otherwise, yes I would be concerned if it were one my girls. Are his gums nice and pink? Definitely give the nutrical. I hope your baby is OK. Tammy

| A York is the most fragile puppy you will ever own and I have had may breeds of best pals. In fact my "Harry boy" has two off breed play mate brothers. Its like "The three Stooges" Get him checked to see if is going in sugar low shock and a IV is the only way to bring him to a level where the real problem can be solved. This cannot be done with him drinking, it has to get into the blood stream he won't get enough on his own! I know this for sure my baby Harry is the most expensive Yorkie in Louisiana due to bad vets. Thankfully today we still have him because I heeded what was told to me here back in May. | If nutrical isn't working, your pup needs to see a vet. Lethargy is common after vaccines but because that doesn't sound like the case here and it comes with inappetance, the vets needs to know. If he continues not to eat, he might need an IV.
