My vet suggested adding the vegetables and cutting back the dry food for Gracie to help her lose weight and so the boys have been getting a little too just to keep it fair. |

Well he's been sleeping in my lap but I shifted a little and he wimpered. Anyway, we're off to the vet now. I'll post when we get home. |

I'm home. Okay so we have a mystery. They couldn't find one single thing wrong with him. He acted completely fine the whole time we were there. The vet palpated his tummy and checked his spine and all of his joints and his neck and pretty much gave him a very thorough exam and... nothing. They gave me some Metacam for the pain (not that he exhibited any while we were there) and told me not to worry and to call tomorrow if he still had any pain. |
Glad they checked him out and he was ok, but it's hard not knowing what is wrong with them. Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow. |
Update- Sugar still cried on and off last night. I gave him the Metcam and that helped but around 8:00 he ran under my bed and wouldn't come out which is very, very unusual. He came out around 9:00 and seemed okay. Slept through the night and no pain so far today. The Metacam is to be given only once a day so I assume it is still in his system. |
Hope Sugar gets to feeling better through the day today. Maybe you ought to take a dose of the Pepto you were giving him before the Metacam for your stressed stomach. |
Poor Sugar. I hope it's nothing more than a little tummy upset. It's so hard when they cry and whimper and can't tell us what's wrong. Sending a little prayer for Sugar and a better day today. |

Poor little guy!! If it's gas, mylicon drops (infant gas drops) have always worked for Miko. He used to be gassy when he was a pup, and this is what the vet recommended for him. I still use it every once in awhile. He may benefit from probiotics if he has a sensitive tummy. Let us know how he does today... |
Didn't you say you first noticed it when he jumped up as you came through the gate? Maybe he pulled or strained a muscle. Whatever it is, I hope he's all better very soon!! Feel Better sweet Sugar! |
Poor baby Sugar. I hope he is feeling better soon. It is scary when they are in pain and you dont know what from |
Strange:confused: I really don't think one dime-sized piece of squash would cause all of this. Metacam may work for the pain but it can cause GI upset, so if Sugar isn't having pain in a couple days, it might be counterproductive to keep giving it... How does he do with mashed potatoes? |
