| Spay Incision Infection..... Hey all! Fiona got spayed on 11/25/08, her spay incision now seems to be getting infected, so i called the vet this am, and they want me to bring her in tonight to check it out...don't you think they should not charge me for a re-check since it should be a post-op surgery procedure? anyone else have this problem!?

| I don't think they should charge me at all. And I did tell them that on the phone. I'm just stressing, since money is sorta tight right now. I think if anything, they should just charge me for any medications that I may have to give to her, if it is anything. I just think she may just have a little irration, but there is nothing oozing out, odor, and shes not licking or bothering it. so hopefully it will be nothing!

YT Addict | No they should not charge you! After Lexi's surgery, I thought it was infected to bring her in and the vet would check her out free of charge. However if she needed meds, or a cone - there would be a charge for that. How does it look infected? After 13 days shouldn't she be almost ready for her stiches to come out? |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I had to take our Chelsey in and it was a re-check fee of 10.00.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie had to be rechecked after her incision got swollen and they did not charge me for the visit just the meds which was minimal. Hope eveything is ok.

| Im assuming since they gave me a 640pm apt and they close at 7pm that it will just be a quick thing. They used the desolable stictches, which if i had known, i would have told them not to do. It's not red, no oozing, odor, i have been keeping it nice and dry, it just looks like maybe its irriating her from the inside? I'm sure they will just give her an anitbiotic, if it is anything.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | With Roxie, the swelling was causing the stitches to pull which was uncomfortable for her, so it's better to have her looked at. Let us know how it goes tonight.

Sometimes the sutures cause a little bit of irritation. If it is just one little bump, that might be all it is. They rise to the surface. If there is no reddening or drainage, I doubt it is infected. Good luck! I am sure if that is all it is, they will either not charge or charge only a small amount. | |

| We had an incision infection also, but during the next week. Yes, we had to pay for the additional visit and the meds. It is not covered under the original procedure at my vet - although they were very good with Angel when this happened.
