Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | Hge Read Very Important A while back I posted that a lady who has two dogs from me (and two others) had a friend who lost her puppy from HGE. In a matter of two days. Well my friends dog Jackson got bloody poop yesterday out of nowhere and she rushed him to the emerg. room. He has it. He is a teapot, much bigger than the small 3 lb puppy who died, but they diagnosed him and treated him and now he is home. So scary....here is a link to learn about this disease Veterinary Q & A - Hemorrhagic GastroEnteritis (HGE) in Dogs |

| My friend's 3 year old healthy chihuahua just came down with HGE about a week ago. Thankfully her roommate was home when her little guy had bloody diarrhea and vomitted blood. They rushed him to the vet and he was put on IV fluids and antibiotics and stayed overnight. He was back to his normal self within 3 days!! So scary though that it can just come out of nowhere!!

| wow this is scary - Bubba was sick a couple mths ago - these symptoms fit him. I took a stool sample to my vet - he didn't test it just put Bubba on medication as he knew it was an infection. Bubba got well, but it scares me when you have a sick one will the vet catch what it is quick enough in these little ones
