| Loosing her hair... Hi everyone. My name is Aimee and our baby is Luna. We have had Luna(yorkiepoo) since November and have loved every minute of it. Recently, Luna went into her first heat. Since then she has been loosing hair on her back end. The vet as well as a breeder we know said it was normal for hair loss around their first and possibly second heat. We were told by another breeder that they would not loose their coats. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Thanks, Aimee |

| I know yorkies are not a breed to shed as a rule, no experience of poodles but believe they don't either. BUT most other breeds shed like mad following a season. I have two other breeds & seem to spend all my time hoovering up hair after a season, often think there's more hair on the carpet than the dogs! |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I've heard of yorkies...blowing their coat during heats or after pregnancy. That is probably the reason, however, a thyroid condition can also cause hair loss.
