Thanks for your replies and kindness. I don't know why. The wetness was not from the ride, we've made this trip many times.
Our house is indeed very empty.

I understand how empty your house feels. When I read that, it brought back memories for me, too. When I lost Muffin, that was what I said. The house seemed so quiet and empty without her and without her toys. I'm so very sorry.
