| Is anyone still up.... I really could use some advice!!!!!!! I have researched, looked on here, and called the vet......... but now there is something that has me worried now. Let me start at the beginning. I woke up to my daughter calling me from her bedroom early this morning that my baby was throwing up. I jump up and start what I think is something I have dealt with before. He has done this before so the watch begins! He vomited about three times, gave him some syrup water, and did not feed him. He slept most of the day and was not active at all but still moved to all different places to sleep. The restlessness started to increase so I called the vet. He said to just watch him, that since he has stopped vomiting he more than likely has an upset tummy and should be okay. Well it is now almost 1 am and something strange he is now doing. He goes to my lap, sits for a bit then plops down. I put my hand on him and pet for a bit and leave my hand on him and then suddenly his head pops up and he snaps at my hand. Nothing hard, nothing really aggressive, just his mouth opens and he goes for my hand. Then he moves off my lap, lays beside me but in a few minutes, he goes back to my lap and lies down. So I put my hand in a different spot on him and the same thing happens. He can be lying on his other side and he still pops his head up and comes at my hand. This tells me it cannot be something on him (or I should say outside his body) that is hurting him. I know if he is not better in the morning I will be at that vets office when they open but if anyone is still up, possibly know if this is something else that may be a symptom of something I need to know or could be what’s wrong? Do they do this when they do not feel good? He has never done this before. An emergency vet will be expensive but I will not hesitate if someone knows this is something else. Or if anyone knows something I can do here at home that will help him. Sorry so long and I so thank you if you know what I need to do. |

| I would call the e-vet and ask if you should bring him in or wait and see until morning. With puppies being so small, they can get really sick quickly-it's not worth the risk of waiting if you think there's something wrong.

| Hope you can get an answer quickly! The only thing that I can equate it to is when my skin kids were tiny and queasy and would want to lay on my lap. They wanted to be near but having my hand "on" them sometimes irritated them and they would sort of slap my hand away. So sorry, sending good thoughts and hugs.

| I wish i could offer you some advice. All I can think of is that he is trying to tell you that something is wrong. I would probably take him to the vet as soon as you wake up in the morning. Good luck and I hope that it turns out that nothing is wrong! Keep us posted.

| I'm sorry, but I"m not an experienced parent (have been with my baby for only a month), and I"m sorry that you're going through this right now! But from what I do know, I would say the main concern would be hydration and blood sugar - so continuing to give him water or ice cubes and nutrical would be good. It sounds like you are being mindful of this. Him throwing up three times definitely shows it's not a problem outside of his body--but since he is taking the syrup water I am thinking he will be ok through the night and probably needs rest. As with humans, dehydration and unconsciousness is reason to call for emergency help. But it sounds like he is conscious but very irritated and tired. And if you're ever not sure, you can always call an emergency vet to be safe I hope he is better soon! |

| He will be a year old this month. I just gave him some more syrup water this time took a little bit more work but he drank a good amount. He just doesn't want to stay still, he gets in my lap and like I said pops his head up to my hands. I stopped putting my hands on him to just let him lay there but he then gets back up goes to the other end of the couch and lay for a bit then he is back. |

| How long has it been since he pooped? Is his belly hard or painful to him at all?

well I know he hasn't pooped today. The last one was around 10 last night right before I went to bed. I have rubbed his tummy on and off all day (hoping I was at the right spots) and he layed there still so I don't think he was hurting to the touch there! | Has he eaten anything other than his food and normal treats in the past couple days? Or is it possible he got into something?
