| Shelby 8 days Post Patella Surgery Update! Good Evening everyone! Just thought I would let everyone know that Shelby got a bandage check/change on Wednesday. The vet said that it looked wonderful..... I, too thought that her incisions looked remarkable! They have healed so nicely, and the vet said that it really helped that we kept it dry and clean. Her new bandages are not blue and white this time, but they are hot pink and lime green! Shelby looks very stylish in them . After we were finished at the vet, we celebrated by going to the "For the Love of Dogs" bakery. Shelby got a box of "Good Dog" biscuits (peanut butter and jelly flavor) and a soft cupcake toy. She is sharing the biscuits with Seymour but NOT the cupcake. It is all hers to have (& I think that she deserves a little something special since she can't run and play like Seymour can). Next Wednesday she will get her stitches out and the bandages come off!! We are so looking forward to it! (I am sure that Shelby will feel so much better when she has nekked legs) Then we will make an appointment for her first rehab visit and start a program to help her heal and gain her strength back gradually. Thanks for all your well wishes while we we going thru a stressful time when she had her surgery. Just wanted you all to know that all those well wishes were so worthwhile!!!(it made me so much more confident, too!)
