| Sick Yorkie If anyone can call me to give me some ideas on my depressed Yorkie. He is about 8 months old and for the last 2 days he has been down and depressed. Since he is alone during the day I don't know if he has eaten but I have the impression that he hasn't. I am willing to go to the vet, but before I do that, I would like someone to give me some ideas to try before then. Thank you, Rod 786.389.8963 |

| Welcome to YT I will let someone else call you as I am relatively new to all this stuff but I did want to welcome you to YT! Be careful putting your phone# in a public forum I would only send it in a personal message! There are alot of experienced people here so you should be getting some help rather soon!

| Thanks I got home a few moments ago and there really isn't a change. Tried the taking him for a walk thing, since he has always loved that, but while he complied - a few steps, after a few he just plopped himself down and didn't want to move. I am in Miami, so weather had nothing to do with it. We have a dog emergency hospital nearby and they open at 6pm -it is abit past 5pm now, so in a few I will be taking him there, and at least I am placing in with the care that he needs. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks, which like most, would rather keep in my pocket, than regret later on because I didn't do all I could. Even though I have only had Max about 8 months, he is a big part of the family and he desires every chance at getting well. Thank you again, and should anyone else wish to relay anything, not a problem. Ordinarly I would not post my number out there, but given the urgency, one, I didn't care, and two, being a federal law enforcement officer, I am able to deal with posting my number out there. People frequenting this site and a particular breed - no pun intended, and I wouldn't expect some sick o to be in here. Thanks again, Rod |

| Welcome to YT...If it were me and Lucy was acting very different I would take her to the vet to rule anything out-especially if not eating is involved. I hope you will keep us posted.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Will he play with toys? Is he pooping normal? Maybe he is bored. I would take him for blood work to rule out anything serious. Keep us posted.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hi Rod and Welcome to YT! If you think he hasn't eaten but are not sure, try giving him some plain boiled chicken. If he takes that readily you know he still has an appetite and that's at least a good start......I would go from there. Has anything changed in the past few days in his environment? Does he have retained puppy teeth that could be bothering him? It could be one or more of several things combined. I think the trip to the vet is a good idea and at least will reassure you nothing is medically wrong. Btw, what is the little guy name?

| I also think it may be his teeth are hurting him. Maybe try rubbing your fingers in his mouth and see if it seems to bother him a little. He might need something soft to eat for a bit if that is the case. |
