| Wheelchair needed for my Yorkie who has cancer My 9 yr old Yorkie has luxating patella's which, until recently, she has tolerated well. She has been diagnosed with lymphoma of her bladder and has urinary urgency and frequency. After squatting frequently for long periods of time (before we got the diagnosis) the patella's got worse. Her symptoms improved for a short period of time but are getting worse again. She starts her chemotherapy treatments Thursday which includes prednisone, this will weaken her knees more. I am looking for a "wheelchair" for her to use while her knees are weak. Our Vet, who we have the total faith in, thinks that she will do well with the chemo. We have four Yorkies, Gidget is our oldest but we have had her the shortest length of time. She is very much a Mommy's girl, pretty much my shadow. It has been a very emotional week for me, the lump is still in my chest that was there when the vet gave me the biopsy results last Thursday. Any guidance you can give about wheelchairs would be greatly appreciated. Prayers for Gidget and for the vet while he is treating her would be appreciated even more. Thanks for your help and your prayers. Lisa and Gidget |

| I've been on here less than a year and I know in that time I have seen someone on here who had a "wheelchair" for their baby. They even had a picture. I'll try to jump start this old brain and see if I can remember who it was.

| Well I have knowledge of Wheelchairs... My Babybear has one, but he has had three all together and the best one I can tell you is through Eddie's wheels.. If you go to http://eddieswheels.com/ Talk to Leslie she can point you in the right direction.. Let her know that Babybear sent you.. She will know who you are talking about.. Your baby will need a rear wheeled cart.. This company is great to work with..They really are.. I have delt with another wheelchair company and they charged way way to much for thier chairs and they are crap.. sorry I am being nice here.. If you go to Babybear's webpage athttp://www.dogster.com/dogs/136060 You will see Babybear in three different wheelchairs.. I made him the first one you see him in and the second one is made by the company I will not recommend and then there is the Eddie's wheels chair.. First time Babybear stood in that cart he walk for the first time in over a year alone.. If you would like more information please PM me and I will give you my email addy.. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me..I would love to help you with your questions.. Can't stand to see a good pup down..You are a great mom for going through all this with your baby..

| Thanks Val, I went to Babybear's webpage........excellent information! He is very lucky to have such a wonderful Mommy!! I had never heard of AAI, great job of educating other Yorkie owners. How old was Babybear and how much did he weigh when he used his first wheel chair? Gidget weighs right at 8 lbs when she is healthy and now she is 6.2 lbs. I am concerned that she wouldn't have the strength to pull a 3 lb wheelchair, what do you think? I had no clue what they weighed until I went to the website. We can email privately and discuss this. Thanks for your help! Lisa |

| Thanks for the link and for your prayers. We are thinking positive. Even with her weight loss she is active, has a good appetite, wants to participate in activities with her brothers and sister, and is ALWAYS ready to GO for a ride with Mommy. Lisa |
