Well, the thing is, this all happened very late at night. I was on my way home from Pennsylvania and it was the only 24 hour place my brother knew of. Had I been home I wouldn't have brought him there, I already had a bad experience with them. I brought Minnie there almost dead..and they said..oh we can't look at her if you don't pay the deposit:mad:. Of course, my brother didn't know about that when he brought cosmo there or i'm sure he wouldn't have. |

I am so very sorry... my prayers go out to you and your baby...:( |
You have definitely had a nightmare. Can't believe how many times there is a thread/post about an incompetent vet. I'm actually not very happy with the one I go to. But it is either 15 min., 30 min., or an hr. drive to a vet. Tried vets 30 min. away and wasn't any happier than with the vet 15 min. away. Soooooo, what to do is the million dollar question. |

Marcella, I am so happy to see that you have all the support of the wonderful YT gang behind you :) I know how scary it can be and having them behind you makes a world of difference. I know i have been there done that and they can help you get through anything :) p.s I will be back around 7:30-8pm if you need to talk some more :hug60: Hugs Girl Mary |
When I took him home..I KNEW what I was doing. He wasn't doing anything different at the vet than i'm doing for him at home. The only reason they wanted to keep him was cause he didn't eat for them and he wouldn't take medicine orally so he had to be on an IV. He eats and takes his medicine with me! I don't mean to sound offensive, I just don't want to risk taking him somewhere and having him go through all that again if its not necessary. If he stops eating or refuses his medicine I WILL bring him to a vet. The medicine is called amoxicillian and dexamethasone |
We're praying for sweet Cosmo. I am so sorry that you are all going through this. |

But you were wrong on one point :p you are doing somethings that they were not doing at the vet. You are watching him 24/7 you are giving him love and attention:). I know he wasn't eating at the vet and was losing alot of weight. And that he was not making any improvements until the day that you were able to go and sit with him for 3 hours then he just changed over night after spending that time with you . You being there with him is making a world of difference. He is alert now he is eating now he is taking his meds with no problems :). Taking him out of that place was the best thing you could have done for him. And i cannot thank you enough for doing so. Like i told you before you will be amazed at the improvements he will make after being home :) A mommy's love just seems to make them fight to get better :) I learned that when Sam was hurt :( He made way bigger inprovements once he was home than he did while he was at the vet. And my vet also believe's in the human touch healing that is why he wanted him to come home when he did :) I just cannot thank you enough for do what is best for your baby and getting him out of somewhere that he could have died. You saved that little guy and he will be forever greatful :) Hugs Mary |
I'm so sorry that you had to go through all that ... it's bad enough you were worried sick about little Cosmo, you didn't deserve to be treated that way! I would have done the same thing you did. I will continue to pray for him and for you. Please keep us updated on his progress. Hugs to you both! |
