| HELP - diarrhea!! My Fiona just turned 2 and has had so many problems in he short little life. I had to rush her to the Emergency vet this time last year for vomiting and diarrhea, she had gastroenteritis, stomatitis, and colitis, she was on all kinds of meds and fluids, she was diagnosed with Legg Perth disease over the summer that we are still watching....and over the past few months has had severe diarrhea off and on...I have tried everything, boiled ground meat, with rice, and cottage cheese....I just do not know what to do...my boyfriend gets mad at her, but she can't help it when she has diarrhea and poops all over the house. I am sooo worried about her, we are going to the vet tomorrow. I Just hope that nothing else is wrong with her....I just do not know what I can do for her..... |

Ask your vet about probiotics. It's a supplement that's getting more and more attention for digestive disorders for both humans and dogs. It really sounds like you've tried everything else. Maybe ask about pumpkin too. Good luck, and hang in there.

| If you are willing to homecook for a little while, you can try giving white fish (maybe tilapia), mashed potato and green beans. This is from Wylie's Mom's nutritionist. You will have to supplement if you do it long term.

| metronidazole Has she been on metronidazole. I had 2 years where all 4 of mine at the time had intermittent diahrrea. They were diagnosed at first with guiarda but later test did not show this. Finally they were put on 1/2 tablet a day for 5 days then 1/2 tablet twice a week. After 2 months of this I weaned them off and they have been diahrrea free for over 1 1/2 years now. |
