Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry about your baby. I had 2 yorkies that had mild cases of collapsed trachea and lived to be 13 years old and the collapsed trachea only acted up when they got excited. My last yorkie had a severely collapsed trachea and did have complications that shortened her life. I was told to never use a collar, don't let them get overweight and your vet can prescribe meds to help if it gets really bad. I hope she has a mild case and meds can help.

| I think it is a mild case, since she only coughs for a few seconds even though it happens every day. She seems to be able to rectify it quickly, but I worry about the enlarged heart complication and I have heard stories where people wait too long and their dogs heart is too weak to operate. It really is a dilemma. Greyhame |
