| Allergic Reactions Has anyone had to deal with allergic reactions? Buddy had one last night he just started going nuts trying to scratch all over, his eye swelled and so did his nose. I called the vet right away and he had me give him childrens Benadryl. It worked but we are still not sure what caused it. He has a distemper shot 36 hours before that so we don't think that is it, he did get a hold of 1 M&M, but the vet does not think that is it either. So now I am worried about leaving him alone because I don't know what caused it so I don't know if it will happen again. any thoughts and suggestions would be great. |

| I think distemper. Thirty-six hours isn't that long of a time. Of course I don't know for sure though...

| Since that is our only lead right now, my vet is leaing towards not giving him the distemper vaccination anymore. He had all of his puppy ones, so he is not due again till next year. I guess we will just wait and see how the year goes and then make a decision. Thanks for your input, I am really enjoying the forum |

| I have 2 yorkies and my daughter has 1. They all swim in our pool. Two of them are fine but my daughters little guy is allergic to the chlorine if you dont shower him off quickly. He seems to get some kind of dermatitis from the pool, and them he starts to scratch and give himself a scabby rash which results in having to give him benadryl. Greyhame |
