| Open sore/antibiotics My baby boy Willie broke his leg a couple of weeks ago. He has since got a sore where the cast rubbed against his leg, and/or he made it worse by licking/biting it. The vet gave me some Simplicin for him to take. I gave him his pill yesterday when we got home around 11:30 am He had some of his 'special' food, some wet food he likes, and later a little kibble too. But in the evening he wouldn't eat his kibble for dinner, or this morning either. He just had a semi soft stool that was very stinky. His stools are always nicely formed. Could the antibiotics be making him feel sick?? I am very worried that he won't eat, he usually loves to eat! ~Melody

| a high amount of antibiotics could make him nasueas you can get something called caravet also to put onto the wound from your vet if they have it or use prep h on it i know sounds gross but it helps also if they used dmso on it for swelling its burns and could cause licking but its really stinky and nasty smells strongly of garlic you could always call and ask what they think though i hope your pup gets better

| Thanks...I thought maybe it was the antibiotic. They dressed his wound for me, and I have to take him back on Friday for her to look at it again. I am making him some chicken breast and rice to eat, maybe he would be able to eat that??

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Antibiotics could be the cause, maybe your vet can give you a topical cream that will be easier on his tummy. Hope he feels better soon

| Thanks Patti. He has a bandage on it right now, but we see the vet again on Friday, so she can look at it. I cooked up some rice and chicken and gave him that and he ate it! I was so relieved. I am one of those Jewish momma's that can't stand to see her child not eat! Now he is eating a little kibble too, so I think he will be ok. ~Melody
