I think Tate is feeling a little sick at her stomach.... QUESTION?
 
I hear her little tummy gurgling and I can just see in her little eyes that she doesn't feel well :( It's nothing serious though, I think her tummy is just feeling a little sick-ish. She ate grass today also, which is another reason why I think this. Her stool was not near as firm as it normally is, but she DIDN'T have diarrhea either (it was anywhere near that loose).

I want to give her some Pepto Bismol, but I can't remember for the life of me how much we are supposed to give them? Does anyone know or is there a chart somewhere? :confused:

I dont know about the dosage at all, but just wanted to say I hope sweet little Tatum feels better soon! *hugs*

Awww, thank you so much Kristen, you are so sweet :) :hug: I hope she feels better soon too - I was sick not long ago with the nasty throw ups (yuck) and I just know how awful it is to feel sick at your stomach so I want to try and make her better as soon as possible :(

I just looked online and found this: The typical dose administered to dogs is 0.5 to 1.5 ml per pound per day (1 to 3 ml/kg/day).

I should of had this written down, stupid me! :rolleyes: I gave some to Stedman LONG ago and my vet told me how much to give, but of course I didn't write it down. Although I'm thinking Tate should have less than Stedman because she weighs less anyway?

Does anyone know if the 0.5 to 1.5 ml per pound per day dosage is right?? I will wait until I hear back from someone before I give her any.

I always give Chloe 0.8 cc's (note the point)

Edited to add, that is .8 total I give her not .8 per pound. That seems like a lot.

Awww, thank you so much Mary, you are very sweet :) I hope she will be fine - I think so :) Just a little upset tummy...poor girl :( She is just resting now, so hopefully that will help her feel better too :)

before giving pepto i usually just give a tablespoon of yogurt. it tastes better and helps to start things moving along

I have a conversion chart inside my medicine cabinet door in my kitchen. I'll run upstairs and tell you what it says. It converts human meds for animal usage. BRB.

Ok - its 1 tsp for every 5lbs every 6 hours. This is what I use :) I use a syringe to administer it. It makes it a whole lot easier! Hopes she's feeling better soon!

Thank you so much girl, you are always soo sweet! :hug: I think she is feeling a little better - although, she has pretty much just been sleeping for the most part. She did jump up to eat some crushed ice though when she heard me filling my glass up at the fridge, so that's a good sign :D Tate LOVES ice!

You know, I thought of this right AFTER I gave the medicine to her :rolleyes: I am out of yogurt, but could have very easily ran and got some for her. I know she would of liked this MUCH better than the Pepto - my babies (as I'm sure most do) DESPISE it. Needless to say, she has pink spots all over her now :p

Ok, well I did give less than that - so that's good...cause my little missy isn't anywhere close to 5 lbs - I'm so glad I didn't give her a full tsp :eek: Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure that's the dosage I gave Stedman, and although he's 4 lbs, my vet said that it would be ok....it never seemed to bother him at all :)

aww, i dont blame her for hating it. i hate it too. i thought it was suppose to taste good because its pink but boy was i wrong. yuck.

Hahaha...supposed to taste good because it is pink :D A girl would think so huh :( Poor little Tate...she usually takes medicine so well, but as soon as she SMELLED this stuff, she turned her little head so fast LOL. She was sticking her tongue in and out for about 5 minutes afterwards trying to get that nasty taste out of her mouth :( I felt so awful giving it to her even though I was only doing it to help her :(

I think she is feeling a little better now though thank goodness. Just trying to get her to rest as much as possible which she has been doing. I know when I am feeling sick at my stomach, all I want to do is sleep :(

I used to give my 5 lb chihuahua 1- 1.5 tsp, per the vet.

Hope Tater Tot feels better soon!!!

Emma has a tummy upset too tonight! She's thrown up 5 times since 4:30 pm :(

Thanks girl! And I JUST saw your thread about poor little Emma...goodness gracious, 5 times since 4:30 - that poor little darling! :( I sure do hope she is better tomorrow...I will say a little prayer for her :hands:

It does taste good! It taste like that old fashion pink candy that is like a wafer. Mmm.. yummy.

Oh you are so funny!! :p I WILL take it if I'm feeling really sick at my stomach because it does make me feel better (I hate hate HATE feeling nauseated - it's the WORST!!) but I don't particularly like the taste of it lol :D

I don't think you could PAY ME to down the whole bottle! :eek:
