| yeaaaa for lacey! for almost a week now she has been more active and has gained 2 ozs. i think now that we have her diet figured out for the most part she seems to be playing more ect and most of the time has that look in her eyes like she is feeling better i talked to the vet when i took her in and he would like to see a little more weight on her and a bit more spunk then we can get her fixed and have retained teeth pulled. we also talked about the liver biopsy and have decided why do it we know what she has now so dont put her through it. what do you think? should we or should we not?

| My advice would be to listen to your vet. If, for any reason you have doubts about his medical advice I would l) ask for a second opinion and/or 2) look for another vet. |

| Yay So glad to hear that she's doing better... I know you are thrilled If you trust in your vet, I would go ahead and take his advise...

| k i just didnt know what all the reasons were to do the biopsy, but yes i completly trust what he says and agree, the only thing is, is this is only the second time he has seen mvd and the other dog didnt make it long. but i do know the person who had that dog and she doesnt take care of her dogs very well in my opinion. i am so glad that i can be home with lacey almost 24/7 and can make sure she get what she needs along with my other dogs, i dont know if i would have noticed it as fast if i had to work.

| That is such good news. What tests were done to rule out liver shunt? How does he/she know it's MVD?

I guess if the doctors at Madison are sure that it is MVD then I would just go with that, especially if the vets think the biopsy could hurt her in the long run. Have they considered doing a scintography or portogram?
