OMGOSH Prayers for Mickey plaese

I am so sorry to hear about your Mickey. I know firsthand how difficult and expensive it is to have a dog with chronic health problems.

What type of stones does he get? Calcium Oxalate or struvite stones? I know struvite stones can often be managed and/or dissolved with special diets.

I found this article interesting. It said males are 75% more likely to get calcium oxalte stones and Yorkies were one of the breeds they are common in.

How's Mickey doing now? It's so hard when they are sick and we can't afford the super expensive surgery. These vets just make me mad that they charge so much when they don't HAVE to.

I use organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar in the dogs water around here. I put two teaspoons in a large water bowl. I actually started using it for my Maltese and staining, but if it will benefit the other dogs, I'll keep it up.

Keep us updated, ok?

I, personally wouldn't go for the removal of the stones again cause it does sound like they will come back and you'll have to go through it all over again.

Mickey is doing ok, acting him self, not in any pain as of yet.

Trying to watch Mickey and Minnie and takes Care of my one year old Grandauter all night, Im wore out. and this is what happened .
Mickey and Minnie was sleeping and I was getting my Grandaughter ready for bed, we was playing and I had my face close to hers when she stuck her hand up and her finger went in my eye, not just in my eye but in and under the eyelid and over the top to the back of my eye. her nail scratched my eyeball and all of the inside top eyelid. Oh My Gosh I was in pain all night, It still sore and hurts today, But nothing like it did all night last night. Grandbabys home now and Mickey and Minnie are sleeping and Im resting.

Those are the ones that are hard to dissolve and usually have to removed surgically.

My Lady is a diabetic and prone to uti's (not stones, thank heavens ) so I know way more about urine than I'd like to.

The pH of urine should be neutral, 7.0. Stones are formed if it's too acidic or alkaline. You can buy urine pH strips and test it yourself. Calcium oxalate stones form when the urine is too acidic. You can add organic cider vinegar like Omega said (it must be from a health food store, not the grocery store) or baking soda to make the urine more alkaline. Mickey may need a prescription diet.

Changing the urine pH isn't going to help with the stones he has now, but hopefully you can stop him from producing more.

I buy the BRAGG raw -unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar from the health food store. I also bought the BRAGG Vinegar Book, lots of good information in it. I think if you do a search on the internet for their product you can read about it on line

I pray that Mickey gets over these soon and everything is worth trying that has been mentioned......especially that bottled water

Ohhhhh Debbie please watch your eye that you don't get infection, might be very wise to see eye dr. tomorrow to get it checked.

Mickey is and has been on a prescription diet UD food for 6 months sense his last Stone surgury.

I had a rough night with Mickey, Makenzie , Minnie and my eye. ill tell you all about my eye in a minute.
I just talked to the vet he said its up to me on what to do next if he gets blocked again....We can do the cathider sp? again , we can do surgury to remove the stones again, or we can do the surgury to leaving the hole.
Theres another member a ady on YT that her dog had this done after having the stone surgury three times. I would really like to talk to her ASAP , But I cant remember her name.


What would you all do ? I need help on this decision.
The cathidar only gives him a instant relief, keeping his bladder from busting. He had this done three times last time. The surgury to remover the stones is so hard on them, and then theres a chance of them coming back again. The theres the surgury to make the hole. I really hate to do this to my baby boy, But I dont want to see him having to go through this surgury again and again.
and what im hoping for is a MIRACLE I believe in prayer and I have been praying, I know theres no way those stones can desolve on their own with just the UD food, if that was the case, He wouldnt even have them now because hes been on that food for 6 months. So if it happens its because God answered my our prayers and gave us a miracle.

Please God hear us pray, heal my little Mickey of these stones and keep him from having to have this surgury again, make him well. amen.

am so glad to know Mickey is alright now . . . I know that having stones on us humans can be very excruciating so I can only imagine the pain he was going through - poor baby.

OH that must truly hurt so bad . . . I hope it is doing so much better today.

Oh my, that is awful about your eye. I hope it heals fine and that you do not have to endure any more pain.

Of course I am sending prayers for Mickey, but your eye has me very concerned.

Yes you are the one hun and I thought that was your name and Miko was the Yorkie, But I just wasnt sure. well we decided to go with the reg Bladder stone surgery. hes at the vets now.
