| Glad that Mickey's surgery went well. Sounds like your vet is a PEACH! Hoping that Mickey has a quick recovery at home...... by the way, is there anything that can be done to PREVENT stones? Just wondering..........

| Mickey seems to be doing alot better this surgery then last surgery,Hes playing abit and eating good. he still has a lot of pain when trying to pee, but is peeing a little more each time. I looked at his last pictures to this time and even though the cut is the same size its not all zigzag this time and looks alot better. Last time he looked like he was on his deathbed not eating and in so much pain, but this time hes brite eye and ready to go. |

| Oh my Debbie...Mickey looks good this time around. The last time was pitiful, I remember it all too well...and those pictures...they pretty much speak for themselves. Stay well Mickey...mommy needs you to be healthy. Thoughts and prayers are yours always...

Thank you for contacting us. Susan Davis offers telephone consultations which are indepth appointments that address your pet’s medical history, diet and a holistic plan to address your dog’s condition. Sounds like your doggie has some serious issues and there are MANY ways this can be helped using holistic medicine. Ideally, scheduling an appointment with Dr. Gordon and Susan together would be best since you have already had two surgeries and a holistic doctor’s input would be advisable. Susan has a lot she can offer you with diet and supplements to help prevent the stones from recurring. She works with many patients who have had this issue. I am including a link for more information http://www.askariel.com/pages.asp?pid=consultation Once you sign up, I will check with them and send you available times right away. Take care, Charlotte, Susan Davis’ assistant Last edited by YorkieShadow; 01-03-2008 at 12:27 AM.

| Watermelon and apples are EXCELLENT treats for Mickey since they are both high in moisture and are low Oxalate which is important since he gets calcium oxalate stones. One of the best things you can do for him is to make sure that he gets a lot of moisture. It's important to keep his urine dilute so that the stones don't even have a chance to form. I'm sorry if I've asked before, but does he get canned or dry U/D. If he gets the dry, it's important to add equal parts water to each meal. So, if he gets 1/4 cup dry u/d at each meal, then add 1/4 cup water to each meal.

Mickeys on u/d dry and u/d can, I give him both. He eats a bowl of the can cut up in the morning meal and then I free feed him the dry all day. he only eats a few bites here and there so adding water to it wont work, it would dry up and sour before he got it ate. we did try it with half water when we first started useing it and he wouldnt touch it. I wish he would cause I had heard they need lots of water. sense his surgery this time hes been eating the can in the evening too and dry on and off all day. I have added the bottle water to his bowl now so im so hoping he dont get them back again. he goes in sat the 5th for a recheck.

| Stay well Mickey...I wish I had more advice to offer, but I'm just not that familiar with this condition...still learning right along with you. The watermelon and apples sounds ideal, but not if he won't touch them. Just wanted you to know that I'm still thinking about you and praying for your baby boy to be well...always.
