| Maggies leg bothering her :( the leg that she broke several months ago seems to be bothering her all of a sudden. I don't think she has been hurt, and she isn't crying or anything like that. but she is holding it up a lot more than usual lately. she has always held it a little if she had been laying down for a while or something....but the last 2 days, she has been holding it up a lot more. I just wonder if it is some type of arthritis or something I am going to take her in to the vet tomorrow and talk to them about it. I hate for her to feel bad. I gave her some baby asprin yesterday but i don't know if I should be doing that or not. I'll just have them do an x-ray to make sure everything is ok with the healing process of her leg and go from there. my poor little baby

Its good you made an appt for her, that's what i was going to tell you to do. it might be nothing, but then again it might be something. The implants might be bothering her and might have to be taken out, or she might have broken something again, tho unlikely if you haven't noticed anything. Do not feed her the morning before her appt incase they need to sedate her to take proper x-rays. NOTE: Asprin is ok to use every once and a while for healthy dogs that do not have any problems. I do not recommend giving asprin to dogs that have had surgery before or might need surgery in the future. Especially orthopedic patients. you never know when something might happen and surgery is needed again. Like i said before, asprin effects the blood ability to clot.

| she doesn't have any implants or anything. she never had to have surgery for her leg. it was a clean break so they set it with a cast for 8 weeks. her last x-rays showed it was healed, so i am thinking there is just something else going on. i hope it is nothing. but i will find out for sure tomorrow.

Hmm, she might have just tweaked it and its bothering her a little. your vet will probably do an x-ray to make sure nothing happened to it. Sometimes when its a radius/ulna break the ulna will break again because its such a small thin bone. nothing will be done for it, except confinement and restriction again. good luck at the vet.
