| My baby is having surgery Lost my first post. Now I hope I am in the right place here. My baby is having surgery in the the morning. Please send lots of thoughts and prayers for her that she comes home's safely. She is having dew claws and double teeth removed. I probably will not sleep much tonight. I am worried sick.. Like humans, any surgery is always a worry and concern. Please pray for her to come home safe. |

| i'm sure your baby will be ok how old is she? she may not even have to be sedated for that. if shes older though she will be sedated as when they get older the bone grows into the declaw and has to be cut out then stiched up she will most likely have wraps over them when she goes home but retained baby teeth are nothing as they dont really have any roots in the gumline they usually come out pretty easily. you will have to take her back in 7-10 days for suture removal from dewclaws

| Why do they remove dew claws? Delilah still has hers....do they cause a problem? I don't know about baby teeth not having roots....I know they are holding on tight! I have tried loosening them but they are not budging and she is 10 months.

She catches them quite a bit. If they do rip and have to have surgery it seems a lot when they can be removed with her teeth. Apparently she has a molar that has caused a lot of her problems, and I did not know molars on an almost 7 month old would even be there let alone have to come out. I was also told she had k9's that needed to come out and was told they would not come out on there own at this point. I am no vet. so I hope they are right, surgery is going to be over 300.00. thanks all for the replies to me and prayers., pooh's mum | |

| Aww, everything should be fine. Ellie still has dewclaws and I'd rather she didn't. It's a very good idea to get rid of them.

| Thanks for all the prayers. She is doing fine now, I had to pick her up a pair of infant socks to put on her and tape them on. I gave her a bath last night she looked perfect, not going to say that today. My poor baby, I have been spending time with her as the gang just wanted to play and be all over her, they just could not figure out why they couldn't. She is on pain meds three times a day, and antibiotic twice a day. She is asleep beside me now in her children's little furry chair. I am so thankful all went well, I did not sleep much last night. pooh's mum Here are some pic of her in socks. 103_0466 603x501.jpg 103_0467 603x501.jpg |
