Freak accident My son (14 yo) was vacuuming, using the hose-type hand held tool to get the baseboards and Pippa was "interested" and she had her little face sucked into the vacuum for a few seconds... We had her to the vet withing 45 minutes and she is there now overnight...She has got some neurologic symptoms that may or may not be permanent. I was convinced she couldn't see at first, but her sight seemed okay right before we left the ER. She isn't walking straight, she is holding her mouth funny, and was circling the perimeter of her playpen with her head rubbing the sides, over and over. She was doing the same thing in the oxygen chamber at the vet. And her breathing was kind of noisy. At first I thought she was just traumatized and scared, but it's more than that. Anyway, my son feels horrible, he just cried when he realized how it had affected her. She is just an angel of a puppy, and this stinks. :( |
Oh my goodness, bless your and your son's hearts. My prayers are definitely with you all. |
Oh my, this is so sad!!!! I feel so bad for your son....I know he feels so bad but accidents do happen!!!! I will be praying for her!!!! Keep us posted!!! |
Oh, I am so sorry. I will pray for Pippa and that all her symptoms are very temporary. How scary. Prayers for you & your son also. |
Oh my goodness, these pups will get into anything. I sure hope she will be ok. What did the vet actually say about her symptoms? Is she at the vet tonight? How old is she? Tell your son it wasn't his fault! :( He must feel so bad. Accidents happen even with all the precautions we take with these little ones. Sorry you have to go through this. |
