| Please pray for my grandmother and her dog I'm not sure where I need to post this as it really has nothing to do with a Yorkie but prayers would be greatly appreciated. My grandma is an absolute dog lover and she's never went through a period of her life without having a dog by her side. She has major heart problems, congestive heart failure and has recently been put on home oxygen while she sleeps at night. She's had her current dog (Baby) ever since she was a puppy and she's always been a hefty dog up until recently when she's lost an enormous scary amount of weight. So after me harping on her non-stop she had her vet appointment for today where the outcome was unexpected and extremely hard for my grandmother to take on. My grandmother knew it wasn't going to be good but she didn't think it'd be as bad as it is. Her dog has the same thing she does... congestive heart failure (not sure if it's the same thing in dogs) and her kidneys are failing her... she used to be over 100 lbs and she now only weighs 40 lbs which is a big difference especially in a like... 2 month (or less) span. My grandmother called me a few minutes ago absolutely upset. The vet gave her some medicine to help prolong her life somewhat but really only gave it about another month (if that). She's had this dog for around 10 years, so. She also told me she'd most likely not get another dog because of her own health condition and didn't want to get another one then her pass away and have to "throw the dog off on someone else" which I responded to if she was to get another one she wouldn't have to "throw it off on someone else" because I'd gladly take it and she knows I'd treat it and spoil it like crazy. It's crazy because the dog used to eat so much.... she used to have to keep up with Baby and keep food in her bowl or she'd whine and now she barely eats so the vet told her to spoil her every now and then and get her to eat anything as long as she's eating... so she told me she dropped Baby off at home then went back to town and went through the drive-thru at Dairy Queen and got her a medium order of fries... she also let me know if she had to she'd go buy her the best steak and fix it for her. I feel so bad for her and Baby.

| How tragic. I have sick elderly parents with a less-than-healthy poodle. I fear this same situation for them. My prayers are with you all.

| Sorry I haven't replied with an update. My grandmother isn't really doing well but as far as I know, the dog's okay. I'm going to try and go up to her house this weekend and check on the dog and give her some attention. As of Monday though my grandmother was put in the hospital. My mom was laying in the bed and heard something keep knocking on the wall so she went out to my grandma's "area" and she was barely up gasping for air so my mom tried to put her oxygen machine on her and she kept fighting her so my mom called 911 and the ambulance rushed her to the town hospital then to a better hospital in a nearby city. She's still in there and when I talked to my mom today she said they were just trying to get her better and make sure she'll be alright at home. She's been to the hospital so much this year it's crazy and it's always basically over the same thing, her not being able to breathe, which several times it led her having pneumonia and bronchitis. If she's still in the hospital this weekend I'll be going up there to see her and if she's at home I'll go there as well... the hospital's just a bit further so that's why I haven't went but I've been calling my mom daily and so far she's just been recovering. Just please continue to keep her in your prayers especially and her dog as well. Thanks everyone for caring and for the prayers
