| I leave food out for Diesel all day. In the am when we wake up he gets a little soft food (natural balance lamb). As for the rest of the day he eats hard food (Innova). I usually pick his food up around 7 at night so he doesn't have to go during the night. Diesel isn't big so I don't worry abotu him gaining weight. I would really llike it if he did gain some weight.

| I leave dry food out all the time too. And, in the evening I give them boiled chicken w/ brown rice and veggies (peas/carrots and potatoes or sweet potatoes) and I switch this up with boiled beef and pork. Elaine. |

| My two and my daughter's dog all get 1/4 c twice a day. Here's the weird part- they are 3 lbs, 4 lbs and 10 lbs and the 10 lb one is the one who the vet is always worried about being too fat. The two little ones are just fine weight wise. We feed Merrick Granny's Pot Pie Dry.

| free feeder here I free feed all of my dogs. I assume they know when they are hungry. None of my dogs are overweight, never have been, so I assume they know what's best. I also give all my dogs canned food in the morning. Since my Yorkie is so tiny and I try to use as little Nutri-Cal as possible, I offer her canned food a few times throughout the day/eve. Sometimes she only has a bite, which is fine as the other vultures are more than willing to swoop in and eat what she doesn't. LOL |

| All my animals are free feeders, with the exception of horses. Well horses get hay all day. I agree on no food at mite. Makes for a not so smelly morning. |

| My Little Piggy Maggie was very picky as a baby, so I would feed her one boiled chicken tender for breakfast, and then the rest of the day she would nibble on dry food. Now she is 2 years old and still on the same diet. So I would say she eat her one chicken tender and about 1/4 cup of dry food.

| I voted 1/2 cup, twice a day, but Sully usually leaves a good third of whatever I give him in his bowl. But....I pick up his bowl when he's done, and don't let him free-feed through the day, so he's learned to eat what he wants. Some days I wonder why he only eats a bite or two? but other days he cleans his "plate". LOL. silly boy.
