Tiny Yorkies Do you or have you ever bread tiny Yorkies, 4 to 5lbs. |
I figured it out.This is anonymous. |
I have three yorkies, My two girls who are bigger and then my Petey. (my stud muffin!!) Petey is still young 5 1/2 months old and weighs around 2.5-3LBS I guess he will stay a tiny. The reason I have him is because my breeding program needed a smaller dog to off set my larger females. In my opinion, I would not have another small dog (under 4lbs) its just to difficult to constantly watch him.. Have I ever told you guys about the time he fell in the pool?? |
In your poll, you stated either have a tiny or breed a tiny. It should have reflected if people out there breed their tinies and the ownership should have been left out. Lots of people here own tinies. There is nothing wrong with that. However, owning one and breeding one are two totally different things...JMHO |
I would also like to state that out of my last litter, two got to 4 lbs and one is 3 1/2 lbs. This came from a standard bitch bred to a standard male. |

I ment to say have you ever bred or do you breed tinies. |
In my opinion, the poll is not very clear. Why don't you ask about breeding a real tiny female, like 3 pounds? I remember, you breed female who is 3+ lbs. 5 pounds is not 3 pounds to me. imxo. 5 pounds is not very tiny to me, 3 - IS. |
I do not have any 3# Yorkies & would not breed 3# yorkies. My 3 plus are just under 4 with wide hips & bigger bones then some of the 4 pounds. |
ok, sorry. But the question is still the same. Let's say, I am fine (almost)about breeding 5 pounds female and absolutely against breeding 2-3+and even 4 lbs females. |
If I understand what you are asking, yes I will breed a real small male a tiny to a larger female as long as she is above 5 lbs..but not the other way around |

My female's are 4.5-5 lbs ..as long as my vet says there is no problems.. then yes I will breed them. I know most people on this board has a problems with breeding under the 5lb mark. I know of some that also breed tinies and the will not post because of being Bashed for it. |
Goodness, how long are we going to go over this...It's is inhumane to breed a tiny girl, no matter what size the stud is...Goodness sake, why have this argument over and over. Is the reason we continue this argument is to have enough people say, "IT IS OK TO BRRED TINIES" so those who do, will have their contious cleared, and won't feel the GUILT! I don't know, please help me understand, because from what I have read here, and over the net, Bitch under 5lbs, Spay and don't breed!!!! |
i think the poll as it exists right now can address several possibilities.... ...breed tinies as in breed for tiny babies ...breed tinies as in having a tiny dam ...breed tinies as in having a tiny sire i don't think many will find #1 and #3 objectionable, but #2, as many know, sparks heated discussions. if the purpose of this poll is to lend a voice to the silent few who do breed their tiny females with success, but remain silent in fear of being flamed by the passionate members who frown upon this practice, then i think the poll should be changed to reflect that specific case to truly give those who choose to remain silent an anonymous voice without turning it into a heated debate. |
