| I know I'm going to get a lot of feedback from this comment......sorry for being so honest. Both Artie & Abigail, obviously male and female, snap/bite at other Dogs @ the Dog Park, in their defense it is only towards much larger dogs when they feel over whelmed, or an over anxious/rough dog, or even worse......an obnoxious humping one! Before Artie approaches them I tell him "Be a good boy" and I constantly watch over him, and I praise him when he does'nt snap. I scold him when he does snap depending on the situation? I have also had to kick a full grown Doberman in the chest for jumping in my face while I was carrying him so for the most part I try to avoid trouble! Unfortunetly my dogs don't know the difference between breeds or size and weight ratios. So he does'nt know that he is only 8.5 lbs. And Abigail will snap at a much larger dog in her face whether I am carrying her or not, as long as she feels threatened/scared? She is much smaller than Artie. That's that "Napoleon Complex" I guess? I am working on this, through their "Training". They are very "Socialized" with both people and other dogs and even other animals. |
