Does your yorkie sleep through the night? I feel like I haven't had a good night's sleep in 4 years! Every night, either Snickers or Baxter will wake us up to go potty. It's a rarity that they will sleep through the night. Am I alone in this? |
My maddie is only 6 1/2mo. old and sleeps through the night, she sleeps in bed with me. |
Ever since Baxter was around 5-6 months old, he has slept through the night. He goes into his kennel at 8pm (when I go to bed) and he sleeps alnight until 4am (when I get up). On weekends he maintains his normal schedule, asking to go to bed, but he will usually sleep until around 7am then. As I don't get up early on the weekend. |
Laci is 7months old at around 10 she is bugging me to go to bed... If I am awake watching TV around midnight..I make sure to take her outside one more time.... I usually wake her up, but she doesnt have any accidents and will sleep till 5 mins before my alarm goes off.... we get up and go right outside....;) |
My 3 year old Silky, Griffin, wakes me almost every morning between 3 and 4 to go out. My 1 year old Biewer will just go along and go at that time. Otherwise I think he would sleep through. But recently he has started waking and vomiting bile. We had this discussion on another thread - Morning Throw up - and it seems to be quite common. For the most part I am able to control it by feeding him right before bed and keeping treats on the nightstand. But, a good night's sleep? No way. I got more rest when my children were infants! |
Ryle...who is 15mths. sleeps all night and occasionally will wake me up around 5 or 6 to go out and potty, but comes right back in and sleeps till we get up no matter what time. Fancie Pants will go to bed when we do and she never wakes up, not even when he wakes up. She is 6 mths. old and has always slept all night. They both sleep in the bed with us. |
Lil' Miss Izzie who is a little over 2 yrs old and sleeps w/me will get up during the night to go potty on her potty pad and then to also change positions if I turn over. :dogzzz: When she does get up to do her business, she comes right back to bed to curl up w/me... :hearts6::hearts6: |
Caoimhe sleeps in my daughter’s room sometimes on their beds or in her crate. I don’t hear a peep out of her until 6:15 when I get up to let her and our boys out. |
Mine wake me up every night to eat not to go pee as they are pad trained. When my pom was here she had Cushing's disease and woke me up several times a night for food or to go out as she was outside trained, so my others got into the habit and I can't break it. I haven't slept through the night in years. |
Conner sleeps through the night. During the week we get up at 5:45 to go for a walk. Then he will eat his breakfast. I know that right after I leave for work he takes a nap. On weekends, he will sleep until we get up (usually at 7:30). He does start to bug me at 10 p.m. to go to bed because that is usually what time hubby goes to bed. When he was a puppy, he would wake me up between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. to play!!! |
Yes alll four of mine sleep through the night. |
Rupert is almost 14 weeks now :) He sleeps all through the night |
Those of you whose yorkies sleep through the night are truly blessed! Would you consider cloning?....lol |

All six of mine are out for the night at around 10ish. And, I don't hear a peep out of them until about morning. The younger ones rise at the onsight of the sun while others don't budge unless I wake them... |
Ralphie and Agnes have held it all night since we 1st brought them home as babies. Ralphie would sleep all day if I let him. Sometimes I worry if he drinks enough water because the little stink NEVER wakes me up to go potty, even of I sleep in really late. |
We are truely blessed. Little Dudley will be 4mo. old the 15th of July. He sleeps through the nite and goes out about 7:00am to tee tee and then he eats. He will let me make coffee without a peep until I get him out of his crate. Kayla would wake us up about 2:00am every morning to go tee tee when she was little. This little darling has been so good, I just can't believe. |
My girl slept through the night probably starting around 7 months. Before then at around 5.5 months, she was able to hold it in for 10-11 hours when she went with my husband to work while I was out of town. He had a pad out and took regular breaks to take her outside 5-10 minutes at a time, and longer during lunch, however, she still refused to go. She'd hold it until she got home and ran straight to the pad. This was the case for 9 days straight. :p However, once I got back from my trip, the nights I didn't wake up in time to her pacing for needing to go, she'd just go on the rug in the bedroom. We only lay out one pad in the house for her to go to the one place. Fast forward, she's over a year old now and she has been sleeping through the nights without needing to go in spite of having free access to a bowl full of water in the bedroom which she has been drinking almost all of during the warmer evenings. She also stocks up on dry kibbles 1-2 hours before bedtime most days. She gets to eat whenever she wants. We do make sure to take her to the pad just before settling in for the night and first thing in the morning. |
All my babies go to bed pretty early at night but before I go to bed around 11 everyone goes potty. That usually will get me to six. Sometimes the two younger ones Maya 1 yr and Brody 9 months will wake me up because they have to go. They use the potty pads but I guess they like company.:) |
Right when my alarm goes off for me to wake up, Rupert starts jumping around the bed to help me wake up :P He is so cute |
Both mine sleep through the night!! :) |
Tinker Belle and Abbey potty before bed @ around 11:15 pm . Abbey will sleep untill I get her up anywhere from 7:00 - 8:30. She is almost 3yrs. old.Tinker Belle @ 2.9ozs. 6months old wakes up early every morning around 5:00 to go potty. She just can't hold it any longer. |
JD sleeps thru the night too. In fact none of my dogs so far have been restless at night, they all just were snug as a yorkie in their own bed cushions. Called me blessed.. |
All of ours sleep through the night!! Thank God!:D |
Seymour has a bladder the size of a pea........ actually it is the normal Yorkie size bladder, but his owners got up with him in the middle of the night when he was little and it developed into a habit. The little guy wakes up and paws at you then stands at the foot of the bed...... rarely does he sleep the entire night like Shelby does. |
Isla will sleep through most of the time. But she likes to go to bed early--8:30ish--so if she's too tired to go potty when I go to bed, she'll want to go in the middle of the night. It's not very often, but it happens about once every 2 weeks. Most of the time she just wants to go out potty around 5-6 am. If it's closer to 5 she'll come back to bed. If it's 6 or after I'll leave her out with the big dogs to play as they are usually up then and I go back to bed. It's never the same!!!! |
11:30 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. everyday. |
My boys always sleep through the night. Bedtime is about 11:30 and wake up time is whenever me or my fiance wake up. The only time they get up in the middle of the night is when they are sick. One night the smaller older puppy was crying like crazy in his crate. I just thought he was whining to get out, turns out he had diarrhea! So mommy no longer ignores middle of the night whines:) |
Winston sleeps all night without needing a potty break. The only thing that wakes him at night is T-storms...oh how he hates those. |
Yes, Becca sleeps all night; however, and it is a big however, it takes forever to get her to sleep. At around 10pm every night she and her brother (Fletcher, my Ragdoll Cat) have their crazy hour. They run wild chasing one another. Becca rarely settles down until 11:30pm to 12:30am. I know I'm home free when she gets up on the bed with her sucky toy (don't ask!!), takes a drink of water out of the bottle we keep beside thebed for her. Inly then will she curl up and go to sleep :) |
