Nana sleeps through the whole night and usually when I'm up at 10 on a weekend she will sleep in till around 12 and I have to wake her up! haha She loves her beauty sleep. |
Mine goes in spurts. She'll have 2 or 3 nights of sleeping and then not for another 2 weeks. I'm so sleep deprived. It's the only "downside" I can find in owning a small dog. However, she has slept throught he night since Thursday. WOO HOOOOO!!! Let's hope we're finally over the hump!:) |

Sounds like a habit more than a need. I would let them bark it out for a few nights and I bet they eventually give up and cut out the middle of the night potty break. Zeus used to get up and I would take him out and he wanted to play outside. I started putting his leash on him and allow him to potty if he needed to and back in we went. After two nights he gave up and sleeps through the night now. He will be 7 months tomorrow. Good Luck! |
My Layla has always slept through the night but in the event she needed to go out....she can let herself out with her automatic doggie door. Best money I have ever spent. Our backyard is fenced so no worries of her getting somewhere she does not need to be and no worries of other animals getting in as the door only opens when she comes close due to the collar she wears. I sure hope you will get to sleep through the night soon. http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/hight...front-side.jpg |
My Yorkie goes out about 10PM and sleeps till about 9 or 10 in the morning. Not a peep out of him.. |

sleeping through the night He just turned a year old in May. He's great with sleeping but he makes up for it by being a little terror the rest of the day. :) |

Hahahaha....I knew there had to be a catch! |
Jinxed! Funny, London has always slept thru the night (10pm - 7am), right until the day this poll was posted! Now she starts crying at 5 or 6am. :scratchhe |
my 4 sleep with me and on the odd chance that gracie has had a drink to late in the evening sne will wake to go potty but the rest sleep allnight the youngest is 5 months old |
All 3 sleep thru the Night Abigail & Pom Pom Sleep w/me and Artie sleeps in his own Bed @ my Feet, so he can tell if and when I get up out of Bed. They are 5,4, and 3 yrs. old. Since they are older I guess I have "Trained" them to sleep thru the Night, but occasionally Abigail will whimper in my Ear to wake me up between 2 am. and 4 am. but that is only if we went to sleep early and I did NOT take them out for their last "Pee time". |
Geez, now if only I could train myself to sleep through the night...I'm the one that needs frequent potty breaks...LOL!!! |
All 5 at our house sleep through the night. weekdays 9 pm to 6 am weekends 10 pm to what ever time we wake up usually between 8:30 and 9:00 am:D We love to sleep in on weekends - "Thank God" so do our furbabies LOL My 16 year old has 2 yorkies and they don't get up until she does. Sometimes she sleeps in on weekends until 12  I usually will go and take them out because I think that's way too long for them to hold it. Right after I take them out they run back into her room to keep sleeping. |
I have 4 yorkies, and an old dachshund. All sleep with me. They range in age from 1yr. 5mths to almost 11 years. I put a potty pad in the bathroom just in case one of them needs it in the night. They use it, and come back to bed. Sometimes it's dry in the morning, so I guess none of them had to get up. I am not an early riser, but they stay with me(especially now that school is out) Most of the time Jackie will take one to bed with her, and she never puts a potty pad down in her room. When mine were first brought home, I got a used play pen, put it beside my bed with newspapers on one end and their little bed on the other end. What little angels they are. :D |
Cooper used to sleep through the night. He was sleeping through the night at just a few months old. Then he realized that his kennel was right next to my bed and all he would have to do is yip. This led to him yipping several times a night and he would NEVER go potty when I took him all the way downstairs to his pad. I was sleep deprived. Now he sleeps downstairs and I am a much nicer person during the day! |
Both Zack and Zeke will sleep through the night, unless I am coming home from an evening shift at 1130 PM. I get warmly greeted then they go out for a short walk then back to sleep. I know they are out for the night when I am either working Days or Mid shifts. |
yes mines too my chico does sleep trew the night .i have not had a ploblem :D |
Mine is a year old and she's slept through the night since about 6 months. She's quite large for a Yorkie though, so that might have something to do with it. (Around 13 lbs) |
My Aunt Bea:aimeeyork will sleep for 8 to 10 hours, most nights. She goes to bed when we do and gets up when we do. Extremely rare for her to get up during the night.:) |
Shelby is 9 months 2lbs 14oz and is up at midnight 3:00 or so and 5:00 or so! She is crate trained and the crate is next to my side of the bed. Her food is taken away at 7:30 and goes out at 9:30 or 10:00 before we go to bed. Is it because she is so small or just habit? Will she out grow it? I would love to have her in bed with us but our bed is one of those that is waist high off the floor so i'm afraid she'll jump or fall off and get hurt..... |
Mine usually sleep through the night unless they have an upset stomach or drink too much water right before bed. If this happens, they walk on us until one of us gets up to let them out. This only happens about once every couple of weeks. |
Louie always sleeps through the night. He goes to bed when we do usually 11:30, and stays asleep til we get up!! Such a good boy!;) |
Both the girls sleep through the night. |
Storm will get up to eat, play and potty. I free feed him because he really does not eat during the day even if I leave the food out. Oh yeah he will get up if I get up at night as well and follow me so I guess he takes after his owner who doesn't sleep through the night either.:) |
i usually get up 1-2 hours b4 Maddie gets off the bed---she needs her 8 hours i guess, lol |
Chloe and Armani both get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night- but they take themselves to the pad in the bathroom and then come back to bed all on their own, so they don't disturb my sleep :) |
