Sam only hangs his head out when he has his Doggles on for that reason! |
I bought the car sear before I bought Joey, I really believe in car seats and seat belts; the thought of him flying out the windshield scares me to death. This is the seat we have, it's has wheels on it and fits in a shopping cart so I can take him to those stores that allow pets. It also made a great overnight kennel when he was a puppy; since it's small he was never tempted to pee in it like he did with the bigger kennel. We have the look-out full bench for the girls. They are buckled in, but have more room than a car seat, and they are not cramped together. It's wonderful. |
we have this one.. Lokout Dog Car Seats in Microsuede - GW Little and the girls LOVE IT!! Avery really LOVES her seat.. she can see out and lay down. it is SO comfy for her too!! :) car rides are a FAVE(for both girls) at our house!! :D |
I use pet coupe in back seat for my Sassy Frass. Even bought new car so I can put her in back seat so she will be safer.Pet Coupe : Pet Carrier and travel bed - a pet carrier pets love! I've had notes on my car from pet owners asking where to get one. |
No I don't. He roams freely but usually Tristan just wants to sit on my lap so I'm always holding onto him anyway. If I let them stick his head out the window, I have a hold of his collar. |
We need to protect our babies just as it is law for kids. Accidents can happen so quick!1 don't take chances! |
I use a dog carseat harness for Buddy which attaches to the seat belt. He is always in the passanger seat. I do worry about the air bags going off, heaven forbid but he dosen't like the car and will not stay in the back. He is too big for a car seat so this is my choice. He hugs my arm as I drive. Buddy is not comfortable riding in the car but he tolorates it. Years ago my daughter had our Terrier mix in the back seat and he jumped up into her lap at a red light and she went into the car in front of her! Secure your pet, better safe than sorry. |
Maxi always goes in his console car seat. I rather be safe then sorry. |

Prairie Bea was safely tucked in her crate cushioned with all her bedding and BUCKLED WITH THE SEAT BELT IN THE back seat when we got rear ended last year while we were stopped at a red light in our truck, our truck was totaled. The impact broke the back of my seat locking device, thankfully my seat belt held me from going through the windshield, had she been in a car seat ????? Always, always this is how they all will travel in any vehicle buckled up in their crate. Oh my gosh, before that happening; recalling the countless times they were in my arms and at a stop light Baby Blessing would love to get on my shoulder and look all about, NEVER AGAIN, she and Dollie Dae were home that day. Thanks to the person that started this thread. |

Mine are definitely restrained when in the car. I made a carseat out of PVC pipe and plywood, made a nice cover and put in a comfy cushion and my boys ride in that. They also have harness restraints on to keep from becoming projectile in an accident. Friday is in a crate all the time. |
