Does your yorkie go in his/her back? Sapphire absolutely will NOT go on her back. |
I posted yes because 6 of 7 do. I was told along time ago that a good breeder will hanlle puppys, roll them onto their backs, touch their ears, feet, mouth, so they learn from early on to be handled for grooming purposes. |
Mine do. They could not LIVE without belly rubs. :p |
Yuppers Izzy loves her belly rubs and that's how she is groomed too on her back for me to comb her tummy!!:D |
Three of the four of mine often do They crawl onto my lap and roll over. That seems to mean, "I'm ready for a belly rub now." ;) |
Both Oliver and Brooklyn do. They also love thier belly rubs...:D |
It's Alphy's favorite position. LOL He'll look at ya, sit up and then just fall backwards. Murphy, not so much, but he's young still and I'm working on him. When's he's calm you can do it. |
Both of mine do; but Max does it anytime you say "bellyrub" or when I come back home from being gone for a bit. Madison does it when he wants to I guess, LOL. |
I have one that does, and one that doesn't (unless he is asleep, that is) Carley will roll over to be rubbed if we say "roll you over". Cooper no way, no how. |
Toby often lays on his back. It's so cute to see him asleep on his back.:) |
Always kISSIE SLEEPS ALWAYS ON HER BACK AND ALSO LOVES HER BELLY RUBBED. |
Gracie quite often. Holly, only if I hold her on her back and rub her tummy. And even then it is not for very long. It is a submissive posture that needs to be trained when they are young. |
All 5 of my girls will do the belly flop ;) They love those tummy rubs. It sure makes it easier to groom them...especially cutting the hair between their pads and their privates. :p Kissy is the most demanding for tummy time.:dogzzz: |
My Darla does!! She just loves her belly rubs!!!!:D:p |
I think Kayla stays on her back more than her feet. She loves just laying on her back and even playing with a toy. She also sleeps on her back. She will play until she is worn out and then its over on her back for a rest. |
OMG, all I have to do is say, "Tummy time?" and Gus flips over. Not only does he get on his back, he twists into a kidney shape for maximum tummy coverage! |
yea, Banjo likes his belly rubs!! |
Nikki will, but she squirms and kicks up a bit first. We're still working with her on it. |
They Snore Too! Artie always sleeps on his back with his legs up in the air spread wide open and the tip of his tongue sticking out of mouth it makes him snore really loud! Plus he will drop on the floor if he knows your going to rub his tummy. Abigail used to get her belly rubbed when she was pregnant every night she still has it done every chance she can get! Pom Pom rarely lets you rub her tummy, I don't think she likes it as much as her Parents do? I think it varies and depends on how submissive they are? I am trying to Train her to accept it and enjoy it. |
Sam loves on his back. He is always rolling over on his back playing with someone. |
Cody sleeps on his back and Gracie will throw herself on her back so you can pet her |

Mia does not ever sit like a dog Mia is always on her back or leaning on her back to expose her tummy I think it has a lot to do with the breeder when they were puppies I know it sure helps to groom her |
ARE YOU KIDDING? Bell is so submissive that she runs to your feet or a strange dog and immediately rolls on her back. Everyone thinks it is cute but sometimes i wish she would stand up and be a big girl..lol |

I couldn't respond because one does and one doesnt. Matty will NOT lie on her back for a belly rub. She fights you like crazy. Kalina wouldn't at first but once she reached about 13 months that all changed. Now she LOVES it. :) |

I started training my dogs from the day they came home to lay on their backs. Now when I'm laying on the couch or bed, they automatically flop over on their backs for a good tummy rub. :p |
Absolutly No>>> Baron will NOT roll on his back not even to let me hold cradled in my arms. He fights to get right side up. The breeder only paid attention to the 2 smallest in the littler of 5. My cousin bought one of the little ones. He loves to snuggle on his back and get belly rubs. Also, his ears stand up because the breeder shaved the 2 smallest ones early on. I want to cuddle and snuggle him, But he won't let me do it !! Baron's Mommy:confused: |
Gypsy loves to get on her back. I call it her "I'm pretty" pose. She will do that and turn her head sideways almost smiling. Then I just have to give her a belly rub. |
