It took awhile but once she trusted us she rolled over for belly rubs. |
she does now 3 Attachment(s) When we brought Beatrice home she wouldn't lay on her back on her own or if we'd try to put her on her back.I guess it was just a trust issue, because now when she's laying in bed or on the couch with us it's not long before she flips over and wants her tummy rubbed. As far as placing her on her back to be brushed it took a few tries, she'd fight it at first and eventually she gave in and now she seems to enjoy it.She actually closes her eyes and falls asleep. |
My Baxter absolutely will not lay on his back for anything. But Bernie on the other hand lays on his back all the time. When he wants his tummy rubbed, which is all the time, he will come up to you and roll over on his back with his paws in the air. He's a mess! I think he knows he's cute. |

Chloe will if I am holding her on my lap and rubbing her belly or combing her , sometimes she is more compliant than others .She wont if she is on the floor and I try it. Sydney on the other hand lives on her back ....she should have a sign " will work for belly scratches" around her neck. As soon as she sees me she rolls over for a scratch . It's hard to keep her on four legs most of the time :) |

Sasha LOVES getting her belly rubbed, especially in the morning after she wakes up or closer to when she's getting ready to sleep. Sometimes she does it when she's chewing on her nylabone. She gets so into it that she rolls over on her back and holds it with her paws to chew on it. It's so cute! |
Ours lay on their backs for US. We have a friend who tries to lay them on their backs when he comes to visit. The only one who will is Maggie. The other 3 have nothing to do with it. I keep telling him that the only one I want my dogs submissive to is ME. It is great for grooming and nail trimming. |
Mine all do that. They luv their tummies rubbed. I start that right from the start with their babies as well, so they are used to it and feel safe:D |

All we have to say is "Who wants their belly rubs" and on their back and feet up. Oh yes they love that daily and sometimes they get them several times aday. Especially little Cinnamon my hubby laughs at how she lays with her legs out to get hers. She is the spoiled rotten one. But they all like the attention. |
