| I used to be super liberal as a youth, but when I became a mother some things changed for me. i found myself getting much more conservative about a lot of things - money, education, taxation, etc...I'm a registered democrat and would NEVER vote republican but I do see many problems with the democratic party. I think it is important to stay informed about the state of world affairs and I think it is equally important to keep an eye on those whom we have chosen to lead us. |

| My party isn't even listed. Did you ever hear of the Constitution Party? I used to be a Republican but I'm so disappointed with them too. I think our politics have been taken over by special interest groups & lobbyists. It would be hard being a politician. You have to make compromises all the time. I think the media is very biased. I look at both sides & try to figure out where the real truth is. I pay attention more to world news than I ever did before as the world is becoming smaller & smaller.

| Politics the way politicians do it is a game. I do not trust a single one of them. 10 years ago you could trust danish politicians to actually be interested in politics, but the american trend has come to Denmark and now we are not voting for a party but a person. I so hate it, I feel betrayed and insecure - everything is about votes and money instead of making peoples lives better. I love politics and I will always vote and join in political discussions, but seriously I see politicians change their mind, not because they got wiser but because someone put pressure on them or they made a deal with the opposistion. I can't say I belong to a party, since they change their mind all the time about important issues. Right now, Danish politics are a lot about American politics. We have an election coming and the big issue is wether to stay in Iraq or not. Denmark has been behind Bush all the way politically but the PEOPLE in Denmark HATE Bushs doings, we have both demonstrations and lots of people writing in the newspapers how we want the government to stop being a part of a war that is really an invasion.(If we had spend the same money on enlightening people in Iraq, they would eventually have overrun Hussein by themselves and chosen democracy which would be the right way to do it in my book instead of having it forced down their throat) Bush has said "I am a war president" and "If you're not with us, you're against us" - that is just sick! I know I am going to get a good beating for this - but before you hit me in the head, remember it is not YOU we don't like, (I have nothing but love and respect for you all, for I see your beautiful personalities in this forum every day) nor is it Bush, but his ACTIONS. And I respect that you see the world differently from me, I can live with us not agreeing on this subject - and I hope you can too. Thank you

| It looks like I'm the only Libertarian so far. I typically lean Republican/conservative just because there rarely seem to be any Libertarian candidates running.. at least locally. I prefer not to get involved in political debates because someone always manages to have their feelings hurt (the other side) and I don't think political choices should be made based on emotion. And I really don't want to hear how horrible I am to think that.. mostly because I don't care what others think and I refuse to be baited. And that's all I'll say on the subject.

| Like religion, I refuse to align myself with any one side! I don't vote just to vote, I vote for the person that best fits what I believe or who I think will work to make necessary changes. I HATE that you have to be registered to a particular party to vote in primarys! I hate the division that political parties have caused in this country!

| I'm suprised more people haven't responded to this thread. (or at least voted.) I'm with you Kim- I don't really know how people can not be interested in politics. I'm blind and can't find who wrote that everyone in the house has to show that they voted in order to say their opinion, but good for you! I can't stand when people complain about the state of our country, but do nothing about it. If they actually did something, things could be different! I felt my blood boil reading a post already, so I'll definitely be back to stay on top of this thread! |

| Add one more to the Democratic Party. As for Bush, I'll just keep my views to myself. I"ll stand by the old adage.."if I can't say anything nice I shouldn't say anything at all," and I definitely can't say anything nice, so... :zip:

I Love Thor Donating Member | Democrat all the way . I want to so badly say more, but I'm speechless to some of the blindness that appears to be taking over some people. I also remember the last political thread...not so super friendly and I want this one to stay as calm as it can be, and I wouldn't want to get anyone heated. |
