| We do sink baths. I just got a second Yorkie puppy a few months ago. I have one that hates any grooming or attention like that. Cassie, the new one doesn't much care for the routine but is easier than Dezi, the 5 year old. Cassie is not fond of the drying. It seems to scare her. Dezi isn't scared but HATES her front paws being brushed. I am the only one that does this unpopular stuff and when they run to my husband to get away from me, it breaks my heart! Since he only plays with them, he never picks stuff out of their eyes or off their butts. I was bringing Dezi to get bathed by a groomer, (I am the only one who cuts their hair) it seemed to be better between her and I. But I know they don't take the time I do to calmly brush her. I either let her suffer by letting someone else do it or I suffer by saving her and sacrifice the bond she has with me for days after.

| hmm I said tub, but I think I qualify as "other" because we use a small cleaning tub to bathe in, not the bath tub. Also, if it is an especially dirty week we sometimes do the final rinse with running water in the sink to get rid of all the guck floating around in the tub!

| We have a deep sink out in the garage...so i have my grooming station set up out there! Much easier on the back and keeps the mess in the garage when we clip.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I use the bathroom sink. It works out really well for us. She's doesn't really put up a fight until I'm trying to dry her off with a towel...LOL!

I Love My Babies Donating Member | In the sink. I don't get down on my knees because I have a bad back and had a knee replacement. They do great in the sink, I am close enough to see what I am cleaning, everything is right there.

| Both of my boys get bathed in the bathtub. They like their baths together. I use a hand-held shower attachment and they stay still for me. But yes, it IS hard on the back.

| When my hubby was alive he would take Tyler (our Yorkie) in the shower with him and shower him then hand him off to me. Now I give my babies a bath in the utility sink in my laundry room. Perhaps when they get bigger we will graduate to the bathtub! :-)

| You're not alone! Both of mine get to shower with me too. I've tried it all three ways listed above and in the shower just seems to be easier. A.J who doesn't like water at all just seems more calm since I'm right there with him.

| I bath Mica and Kali in the sink. They are so fast and small that I fear I'd have back problems if I had to chase them around the bathtub. I like the sink as we have a sprayer to attached to the faucet which makes it much easier to rinse them. I put a little rubber mat in the bottom of the sink so they feel more secure and don't slip. Mica was afraid of the water at first but now she loves her bath and especially the sprayer with warm water on her back and neck. She arches her little neck up as though she is loving the massage...it's really so cute. Both of them even love the warmth of the blow dryer now after their bath. Makes bath time so much easier now..... |
