The breeder told me Shelby couldn't be registered because her dad had papers, but her mom didn't. Is this true there is no way to have them registered without both parents being registered? It doesn't really matter to me I mean I still bought Shelby, I was just wondering? |

What are you supposed to do with the papers? If you're not breeding or showing your dog what do you do with the papers? :yelrotflm :lol tears :grin2: :eyetearss :jump28ib: Quote:

what are the importance of registration? i havent done it yet ... is it important .. idont plan on showing him hes just my lil guy |
To me is not important because im not planning to breed or show. I just wanted a pet. |
Both Missy & Max came with their AKC papers, but I never turned them in. I dont plan to show them or breed them so the papers arent too important. |
i like registration..but if i fall in love with a baby whos not registered it wouldnt be that big of a deal |
I would prefer it but its not necessary. I do prefer AKC over CKC if I had to choose. Not saying anything bad about those who are CKC reg. it just seems like around here its people that don't take care of their pups as much or have tons of different kinds of breeds who are breeding under CKC (not owners breeders and not all). I don't know, I would feel better if they were AKC reg. I guess its stupid but I would feel that the breeders knew more about what they were doing and blah blah blah. Although I really don't know where around here I could find a dog that wasn't able to be registered unless its a rescue or pet store pup. |
I have to add though I really don't know why we turn in the papers. I, since I don't show or breed, kind of take the whole thing half heartedly. My first pup was named Buckwheat the Wonder Pup, nothing like the typical show dog name. |
Papers for me are not important either. Both my girls are registered but I don't plan on breeding them or showing them. |
If registration papers are not important . Why do peoples bothers to look for a reputable breeders when they want a pup ? |

I don't know how to vote. When I was showing dogs - I wouldn't buy one without registration. For home companion, since I'm not going to breed it wouldn't matter. I think it's a good thing if you show or breed. So, how do I vote? There isn't a category for "Necessary when breeding or showing". Sorry. |
