Not sure what's going on. Anyway I think it's a shame that the west coast people had to travel half way accross the US for this past meet-up and now are expected to go all the way accross. I still think if it's going to be held once a year, it should be in the middle of the US and if everyone want's to take turns on each coast, then it should be twice a year. Personally if it ends up being in VA. then I will have to pass. That would be just way to expensive. How sad.

alot of us on the east coast would be in the same boat if it was on the west coast.....there really is no win/win in this situation....hopefully it will all work out for everyone.......like i said before ....even if on the east coast im still not sure if i will be able to go...alot of money is going out next year here and im just not sure how things are gonna go...i hope to be able to go but i will just have to see

It's unfortunate for the West Coast people, but if it was on the West Coast, the East Coast people would be in the same boat.

Where it shows poll results just click on the number of votes. It is underlined I believe

You still should be able to see who voted for what, just click on the # of votes and it comes up..at least it does for me.

I can't believe Alexandria won, I was hoping for Savannah or San Diego. OH well, we'll probably sit this one out then go to the 2010 one.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this! When I checked a couple of hours before the poll closed, Alexandria was trailing by 8 votes!
I guess quite a few voted at the end! I'm shocked!

I have never been in "the loop" about the meetup as far as planning, decisions, etc. so I don't know if this has ever been up but what about having 2? One on the west coast and one on the east coast? Then people can decide where they want to go based on all the factors that have come up here (cost, location, people they actually want to spend time with, etc.).

Just a suggestion for whoever is planning the event. Honestly, I didn't even realize there was a "committee" until this thread.

I've only ever saw the total votes after voting, I've never been able to see who each indvidual voted for. Weird.

Exactly!!! And is the very reason I suggested it be held in the "middle" if it's only going to be a once a year thing. Twice a year if we want to take turns having it on each coast.

I agree I mean down the line someone is going to miss out either way!!! it has to be somewhere....Im happy with 2

I totally see what you're saying! But for some people, it's just too expensive to travel even just to the middle of the country. With this set up, everyone will, at some point, have a greater chance of being able to go - even if they're tight on cash. I think someone mentioned having 2 a year, and they deicded that would be a bit on the expensive side if people want to go to both.
