| Backdrop suggestions? I'm curious to what you all like to use for backdrops when taking pics?

| I am curious too. I have never used a backdrop, just wherever I put them or they are at the time. |

| I'm so glad you started this thread! I was just asking MaryKay (AprilLove) the same thing yesterday.

| In the thread about building your own light box, the directions suggested inexpensive craft paper from a craft store. Some of the better art supply stores carry extra large craft paper in all colors. You can also use material from a fabric store, starched bedding, or a framed canvas that you paint the color or pattern of your choice. |

| I purchased a back drop from a photo store and found it to be a pain in the *ss and very hard to store and carry. So I started using sheets and fabric. The back drop in my avatar is actually black velvet. King size sheets work wonderful especially if your photographing pets and children.

| Most of the backdrops I've used for the portrait type pics, found at Target. Those fleece throws that sell for about 10.00. Usually, I just use sheets, or in the case of our Valentine photos, a white comforter

| I use a off white fleece throw that I bought at Ross Dress for Less for about $10.00. I like the throws/blankets better than the sheets because they don't seem to show any wrinkles and I'm not really into ironing.

| Oh, so glad you started this topic. I have been going to Walmart and buying material in the sale area that doesn't wrinkle easily, and playing around with it. So far, we have tried black and white. Love to hear what others are doing.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | We have a fabricut outlet down the street and they sell remnants of 2-4 yard lengths with 60" widths in a an array of silks, satins, velvets, in numerous colors. So, I have several lengths of fabric in, white, cream, black, red, copper, pink. The 60" width is great to work with. I've also used bed sheets or blankets. Also, my dh made a black box for me to use when I was taking pictures of my dresses for sale. He opened up a big cardboard box, cut off one end of it, and painted the interior with black spray paint. Now, I can pin dresses to the back of the box, have a black covered platform for the bottom of the box, for taking other pictures with the kids. My favorite backdrop though is the outdoors, with my spring flowers, ribbon grasses or in the fall, with the brilliant colors of the changing leaves.
