| My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Will this lense work with my D5000? I need it to auto focus so it needs to have the motor in it. Anyone have it? How do you like it? I may treat myself if its the right one! |

| That lens is wonderful! It has the motor in it, so it will autofocus with the D5000. It has gotten wonderful reviews, and it's a nice focal length. It isn't very wide on a D5000, but it is like a 50mm lens on a full frame camera. I don't have it, but I've considered it. I use the D300 and might someday go full frame, so that's the only reason I haven't gotten it. It can be used in lower light without a flash, and the size is perfect. You won't regret getting that lens. If you need any help or advice, I've been using Nikons for many years and I know their lens lineup backwards and forwards. This a thread from an excellent photography forum. It's from the Nikon board of the forum, and many of these members are very knowledgeable about photography and Nikon. You can see samples of pictures in it. Nikkor 35/1.8G DX - It's Great! - FM Forums |

| Lenora, I love your new photo of Brownie. The image and Brownie are just beautiful! That lens is such a perfect lens. I use the Nikkor 50 1.4g a lot because of it's size and low light ability, but the focal length is often too long. I also use a Nikkor 35-70 2.8 much of the time, a lens I've had almost 20 years, but it is very heavy. Good luck with your new lens. |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oooo, fun with Primes! My primes are my favorite lenses, hands down. I have the Nikkor 1.8 and the Sigma 1.4 (HSM).

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | LOL ! I know...the main reason is (lame, I know!) getting them under the 200k size limit. Editing/post-processing feels like such a chore to me...so most pics are just uploaded to my computer and left large. Can we say lazy, why yes we can! But, hey, I did post 2 pic threads within the last couple/few months - I mean that is a total record for me !Are you still addicted to your Prime?

| I bought this lens a couple of weeks ago from Amazon & it was defective. The lens won't autofocus. I thought at first I was doing something wrong, so I played around with all the settings and modes but I just couldn't get the thing to work, so I'm returning it to Amazon today for an exchange. I hope the next one works! I'm really excited about this lens....can't wait to finally use it.
