Best Tips for Taking Pictures - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I have a yorkie that runs as soon as she sees the camera!! What are your tips for getting your dog to cooperate for the photos?? I have tried using the element of surprise (since she recognizes the camera) but as soon as she hears the flash or shutter she moves and I end up with a blurred photo or a turned head.

One of my tricks is that I put him on a chair like somewhere that he has limited amount of place to move. Then I get his attention with someone ringing a small bell over my head. Hope this helps!

I put them on a small table. I just recently got a new camera with a tripod and a remote shutter release. have not had the chance to use the remote shutter yet, but I'm hoping it will allow me to distract the dogs so they are not focused on the camera. They like to shut their eyes when it flashes.

Some of my tricks are to take them out of their element, like remove them from a room they are comfortable in and into a new one for the pics. Then I use sqeeky toys, treats...or make some really weird noises

also, sometimes when I dress them, they sit still better. Not always, haha, but sometimes.

Sitting them on something like a couch chair or table Work's well.

I am the queen of weird noises. Cat oises usually get them to perk their ears up

Good tips. I have a couple more that might help.

I would get my camera out all the time, but ignore your baby. Flash it, etc. Maybe she'll get used to it, and figure it doesn't have anything to do with her.

Back up. Maybe she won't notice the camera as much. Use a zoom if you have it, or crop it digitally to make her the focus of the pic.

Hope you have digital! You only need a few "keepers"!
