| !!!Cookie Monster Explained: Oreos As Addicting As Cocaine!!! Ach, as if we didn't all know it was true but study shows that cookies and other sweets are as addicting as cocaine, morphine & addictive drugs. Study shows that Oreos are as addictive as cocaine

| There's no such thing as a Cookie Monster anymore. They changed him to a "broccoli" monster some years ago, to encourage healthier eating habits. What kid is going to choose broccoli over cookies??? Heck, I'm an adult and wouldn't!

| Well, that explains my dip into the cookies last night. Guess the only thing to do is not buy them to start off with! |

| LOL. Well, they may think they did away with the Cookie Monster but apparently he is alive & well in all of us and those rats! I think this study proves it - we are born craving sweets the same as people crave feeling a drug high. I know I've got a Cookie Monster alive & well in me! I think that is so darn funny that the rats didn't care a thing for the rice cakes(yech!) or the saline solution but flocked to those Oreos about the same as they did to the strong drugs!

| Well the rumors are that coca cola actually contained cocaine, maybe there's more to the Oreos than we realize lol.

| Here's a better article about this study. How Oreos Work Like Cocaine - James Hamblin - The Atlantic

| I guess I'm just crazy because I don't like Oreos. Now a white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie..... that I could get addicted to.

| No surprise. Chocolate acts on your brain like heroin does. As in you give someone some chocolate to eat, give them the drug administered for heroin overdoses, and said person doesn't need to eat a second piece of chocolate anymore.

| I think I'm just a sweet addict - doesn't have to be Oreos or even cookies - just as long as it's sweet, I'm that rat hanging around the sweets room at the end of the maze waiting for my next fix! And given a choice, my rat self would choose the sweets room over the drug room if I had to choose between those two. Desserts top drugs any old day!!! Wonder which the ratties would have chosen if they were given a choice of drugs vs. Oreos?
