Once I was in line to get into a club. This was YEARS ago. Everyone had a bottle of "iced tea" or "coke". I had mine too, but the couple in front of me asked if it was vodka. I said no, it makes me sick and I end up throwing up. they said Haha Yeah I guess we're allergic to vodka too! Har har har. Really I stay away from vodka like the plague.

| You just need to cook out the alcohol longer.

| Because it's about food that tastes good ~ not about getting drunk

The wine or ligure adds another "note" of flavor. Really is yummy! Now .. The exception would be .... rum cake lol!!

| My dh is always adding wine to beef stews, roast, and soups. He thinks he can cook..his version is telling me what spices to use..lol. I found a recipe that used a white wine for marinara sauce.. I was so used to red win in that the of sauce... Unbelievable good.

You want to be left with the flavor not the *proof*. I disaagree with the poster(MSyorktown) who said to use cheap alcohol to cook with. You need to cook with the quality that you prefer to drink. Cooking out the alcohol concentrates the flavors so you taste MORE cheap vodka or wine or rum, etc if that is what you chose to cook with

| Yeah, very strange. I have no idea why you react that violently to vodka

| I can't believe that your district would let you take the responsibility of making sure all of the alcohol is cooked with and not consumed by the students. They must have a LOT of trust in you

| I always add a Guinness when I cook Chili! It seems to beg for it! I don;t like Guinness to drink, though, so I'm glad they sell them by the large can with the widget in it

At my kids schools we couldn't even use pure vanilla extract! I know you have been with the district for a long time ~ I just assumed you meant your class. Sorry, my bad
