I am a huge lamb fan. I have/use a variety of lamb and mutton recipes in my arsenal.

Lamb is difficult to find here at a reasonable price. In every other country (well...most other countries :rolleyes:)lamb is cheaper than chicken :chicken:

Why oh why are Americans :flag: so against lamb??? :idontknow:

I just scored a 10 pound lamb leg for $28.00 for me and the pups to share (Curri :bee: seems to be :chicken: sensitive) and I also have a brand new TAGINE (thanks, Shinja!!) to cook it in.

( :thinking: maybe the Tagine itself will be the next topic here ;))


With all of that said.....which side of the shepherd's staff do you sit on the whole "lamb for dinner" debate? :2popkorn:

Do you have any recipes??

LOL I am sure:D I doubt our market even has it..seems I looked for it at one time to make burgers and couldn't find it:rolleyes:;):)

That was going to be your "try something new" (if not sneaky and lying to family) dish!!

Lamb is very tasty and should be better received in this country. Oh well....more for me and my girls :D:D:D

The few times I've had lamb, I didn't care for it's flavor. It's got a very strong flavor, not unlike venison or other game meats. I see it prepared on some of the cooking shows, and it looks delicious. So, I would be willing to try again, I'm just not going to be the one to shell out that kind of money on something I'm almost certain to not like.

because it's a "slow seller" in the :flag: you can find it at a reasonable price in your local market if you regularly look in the grocer.

If I had a choice, I would choose lamb over other meats too. We raised sheep and I have eaten a lot of lamb over the years. We cook it just like you would a pot roast or slow smoke it, or grill lamb chops, or lamburgers. We never used it in any special recipes though so I can't help you there. :)

lamburgers are amazing. That was my recommendation to Michelle. She couldn't find the ground lamb locally. I suggested having a butcher grind it. I am not sure where exactly we left off on that suggestion :sidesplt:
