Need to get me a crock pot, to make this... Taco chicken... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Bag of frozen chicken in the crock pot. Put the cream cheese, corn, salsa and black beans on top and let it go for 6-8 hours on low. shred when done. serve with chips or as tacos. (This is super awesome,) I need to make this.. anyone with a crock pot want to try it...LOL |

I have a crock pot, but don't use it....I'd just toss the stuff in, leave it on, and then it's ready 6-8 hrs later, right? My hubby might like this recipe. When you say a bag of frozen chicken, what do you mean? Like, wings...or nuggets...or something else? Also, would I use a whole block of cream cheese? Canned corn, yes? Wow, I just turned the simplest recipe on earth into 20 questions. I'm feeling some Martha Stewart shame at present. |
I would not use frozen chicken in a crock pot for safety reasons. I would thaw the chicken in the fridge and then do the recipe. |
I really don't know this was shared in one of my groups, LOL, I don't own a crock pot yet, I am planing on getting one soon... hugs, |

I would think you could use just chicken breasts and shred them? This sounds delicious... I agree, I wouldn't do the frozen chicken. Thawing it in the fridge and then cooking would probably be better. We are going to try this one out, it sounds delicious! |
This sounded so good, I just had to google it and see if I could find the full recipe instructions. Here's what I came up with - it sounds like the same thing: Crock Pot Chicken W/ Black Beans and Cream Cheese...yum! Directions: 1 Take 4-5 frozen, yes, frozen, boneless chicken breasts put into crock pot. 2 Add 1 can of black beans, drained, 1 jar of salsa, 1 can of corn drained. 3 Keep in crock pot on high for about 4-5 hours or until chicken is cooked. 4 Add 1 package of cream cheese (just throw it on top!) and let sit for about 1/2 hour. 5 All done and enjoy! I've cooked just about everything from a frozen state before. No problems, meat stays juicier but still gets done. I always check it with a meat thermometer. Steaks and hamburgers on the grill come out great! Actually saw one grilled hamburger recipe where you put an icecube in the middle of the burgers as they are shaped into patties. Seasoning tends to bounce off frozen food so you may want to season it a little ways into the cooking process...:D This recipe does sound yummy! Looks like the cream cheese is added during the last 1/2 hour of cooking.... |
I use partially frozen meats in my crockpot. By the end of the day when I get home, my meal is bubbling away in there. If the meat hasn't thawed and cooked in 6 hours on high your crockpot is no good and should be upgraded ;) I also tend to brown the chicken first in a pan, personal preference, but brown food tastes better :D Frozen chicken breasts in a bag or the frozen chicken tenders would be best. Then they aren't all frozen in a clump, KWIM? |
