Lets get cheezy! How about some CHEESE talk? I am a huge fan of the stronger tasting cheeses. Like Jarlsberg and Stilton Blue and Red Lester. I also like Pecorino and Feta. I'm also a HUGE fan of a SUPER sharp white or yellow cheddar! Mozzarella (fresh) is good with fresh basil and tomato and balsamic (caprese) but otherwise I have little use for it. I like Brie but it has to be paired with something with substance to accentuate the creaminess without overpowering it. Are you a strong(stinky ) cheese lover or a mild or dare I say processed cheese lover? What do you love (or hate) about strong cheeses? Do you pair them with fruit and wine? |
|
I love cheese!! I have paired with fruit and crackers too. Not wine yet. But would love to hear some good combinations! |

Oh man, I am Cheezy, too! I love x-sharp cheddar, blue cheese (mostly salad dressing) and romano and parmesan. I love cheese and fruit. I grew up eating melted cheddar on hot homemade apple pie - doesn't get much better than that! One of my most favorite combos is cheese and jalapona peppers! |
|
I LOVE cheese stuffed jalapenos! The Old Salty Dog( by me )stuffs them with a spicy cream cheese mixture them wraps them in bacon and serves with a sweet marmalade dipping sauce  |
|
I love cheese with whatever and never had one that i didn't like :) |
|
We are cheese LOVERS! You all are talking our language. Have you ever tried XXX sharp cheddar from New York? We have not tried it yet, but have heard it is wonderful. We love a good gorgonzola. Jalapenos and cheese is delish. I like a Pinot Noir w cheese. Believe it or not, a good hard cider is tasty w cheese. The fermented apple flavor really goes well w the cheese. I also like to make a cheese fondue w either a guiness or a nice white wine. |

Reserve Irish Cheddar Cheese hard cider and wine are both REALLY good with cheese. Same reason apples and grapes are great with cheese I guess ;) cheese fondue with beer or wine is SO good.....too bad I'm on a diet :( |

I love cheese slices on apples |

The only kind of cheese I have found that I dont care for is feta. I make a 4 cheese pasta that is yummy. Another thing I like to make is loaded french fries topped with cheese, ranch dressing and bacon bits yummo! |

I LOVE feta! I also love gorgonzola. No one's said anything about goat cheese? I love a goat cheese pizza. I love the tang. Smoked gouda in sandwiches YUM. |

I am not a fan of stinky cheese at all, if it stinks I can't eat it. I tried Blue cheese again the other day, thinking I might be missing something. It tastes like it smells and I couldn't eat it...ewww Not a fan of processed cheese either. I like sharp cheddar, freshly grated Parmesan, pepper jack and colby are my favorites. |
|
I love stinky cheeses the most! I found I did not particularly like parmasano reggiano (sp?) It was too overpowering. Now I probably made myself not like it bc of the price! It was the real stuff, not parmesan. |

I like cheese in almost everything i eat |

My sister and I were in Mexico a few years ago and picked up some goat cheese in the market. We both speak Spanish, muy poquito  Anyway....we got the cheese back to our condo (it was a very cool condo BTW....it had an open air 2nd floor kitchen overlooking the mountains and sunset! All for $35 a night!).....opened the cheese and spread it on a loaf of crusty bread. Thought it looked different cuz it was rolled in something dark but we are both adventurous.....it was ASH   and it was gritty nasty disgusting! We wasted about half of the roll cutting off all of the damn ash  |

I wonder if stores sell like a taster set of cheeses? I like all kinds of cheeses but especially more tasty ones rather than bland. Mozzarella cheese is a must for making my lasagna!! |

I guess I do use mozzarella in lasagna, but I try to only use the fresh! I'm going to try my hand at making ricotta cheese soon! The Food Lab: Fresh Ricotta in Five Minutes or Less | Serious Eats |

Missed you, too! Oh, you are brave to try to make ricotta cheese! You have to let me know how it turns out. I'm going to see if there are any cheese shops...I think I'd enjoy tasting different cheeses. |
