I use a real ham bone. So here we go: 1lb of split peas rinsed - I use 50/50 yellow and green One medium onion diced Three large carrots sliced 4 cloves of garlic minced 1 lb of potatoes diced 1.5 tsp of Tumeric SAlt and pepper 3cups of vegetable stock 2 cups of water I saute the onions and garlic first, then add spices to saute and then the carrots. Then add all the liquids and rest of veges - Takes about 2 hrs to cook. Sometimes I add extra ham as well. After cooked I blend everything up in blender - or you can keep whole if you like. Serve with French Bread. If you need to *thin* the mixture just add more water |

Donut stick and coffee for breakfast, neither of which contains anything of nutritional value, and now I'm thinking pizza for lunch. |

Now...what, of nutritional value, are you going to be putting on the top of that pizza...?!!!? :p :D |

Well, instead of a freshly baked, hot, steaming pepperoni pizza, I ate cold leftovers from the weekend standing in the kitchen! Two bites of yesterday's Salisbury steak, 2 tablespoons of peas, the end of a baked potato and the last of the mustard potato salad. Yuck. |
I had the last of the left over roast beef and a Yorkshire pudding some horseradish sauce. Soup for dinner when I get home - yup its soup dang freaking cold time. |

REALLY good for you - full of calcium () but great for the soul! :D |
I've not ate dinner yet, but I'm hoping for some grilled chicken and rice! My son is home for a couple of weeks. He's a health nut and cooks his own food daily and seasons the heck out of it. I am usually such a plain food eater (no seasoning, no sauces, no gravy, nothing) but I just love how tasty he makes everything. I'm hoping for a redo of the chicken and rice he made a few days ago. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. |
