So far today, A scone with jam & cream (it was the last one from Christmas day), 2 cadbury flakes, and a packet of jelly tots  Am I the only one that feels the need to eat all the sugary junk food out of the cupboard before the New Year? :p (You guys talking about McDs has me thinking a filet o fish & fries would make a good early dinner. Best to have something in the belly before drinking bottles of bubbly this evening!) |

French Canadian home made pea soup and French Bread! Yums We are at home this New Years which is absolutely fine with me - don't like going out on New Years. Hubby and the pups we may not make it to midnight:D Although we did get some bubbly something in case we do |
Needing your recipie (sp!!) for that scrumptious sounding pea soup!!! I just had rice dressing with some fruit salad for "dessert". I am heating water for some hot aple cider to drink this evening....it is cold and wet here in Houston....that damp cold that goes to your bones! |
Down in northern California for another Christmas with my beloved's side of the family, after hiking four miles through redwoods and ocean front today, I have no qualms enjoying a delicious stuffed Chicago style take n bake pizza and a glass of red wine :) :2party: cheers indeed! |
For some reason homemade potato salad with two kinds of diced pickles, onion and pimento couldn't wait for me to make and devour a large serving of it today. Hardly a dish for a cold, rainy, dreary day but that's what I had with sweet iced tea for late lunch together with sliced ham. |
I love OUR "cold" weather....it has rained on and off all day long, so it is a bone chilling, damp, 45*.....feels like 28* to me!!!! Had a nice hot bowl of what my dad used to call Wisconson Chili or Wisconsin Goulosh.....has no chili powder so I guess it is more a goulosh....ground meat, cooked in a couple cans tomato sauce with about half again as much water, with couple cans diced tomatoes and elbow maccaroni....and he always put a can of LaSeur green peas in there! Served with garlic Texas toast.....and my son always eats a tossed green salad to begin his meal with! Splash liberally with Tobasco sauce......Lordy, Lordy!!!! Warms you from the bones inside, out!!! |
mmmmm.....chili sounds wonderful in this kind of weather! |
