Do you obsess about certain foods for a while? I don't know if it's just me, but it seems I'll want to eat a certain thing all the time, until I get it out of my system....and then I move on to another food. Not that I don't eat other stuff at the same time, but I *really* have to eat a lot of the food over which I'm dying. Here are some of the foods I've obsessed about the last year: Brussels sprouts (saute) Cabbage (saute) Cantaloupe (my current one) Apples Kashi GoLean (this is an ongoing one) Mushrooms (saute) These are by no means my favorite foods (which are sushi and Ethiopian food)...but I go thru wanting them as often as possible. Of course, if I could, I'd eat dessert all day long. My hubs is currently and totally obsessed by hard boiled eggs. Anyone else? |
Oh gosh, yes. My lifelong obsession is and will be pickles/pepper rings/pickled veggie mix. I think I went through an orange phase. I get like this a lot while I have a whole box of something here, then I can't get anymore or it would continue (latest was Fiber something or other fudge coconut caramel bars). I've been on a raspberry vinegarette kick for my veggies and salads for about a year (has to be a certain brand though). Actually, you should just ask my mommio what it is. She does the shoppping around here and always has to take notice about what I'm going through too quickly so she can restock (or go back to the store midweek). lol |
Yes!!! I've done it so much with brussel sprouts that I cannot even stand to eat them anymore. It wasn't until a year ago that I've ever tasted them and loved them until I overdid it. The only other food I think I've done this with is tilapia. |

I can eat pickles by the gallons!!! I love them! I even get pickle flavored sno cones! :D:D I went through a Twix candy bar phase. I think I never want to see them again! Lol. :p |
I am obscessed with Subway tuna...I eat one at least 3 times a week....lettuce, cheese, toms and cucumber slices on wheat. |
That would be a big YES from me. And my craving have changes over the years. But mine aren't as healthy as some of your's Ann. Currently: sharp cheddar cheese summer sausage pickles Past: tomatoes cottage cheese popcorn dove bars :D marinated artichoke hearts |
I keep craving something, but I just can't figure out exactly what it is I want. |
Ohmygosh, I am exactly like that! I just go crazy over a certain taste or consistency of a food and cannot get enough of it for a while. Currently, it is kernal corn. I love corn on the cob but currently cannot get enough of just the plain old corn, cooked anyway you like it. I thought I was the only person that did this!!! |
YES!!! my list changes by the month..... but currently :) Curry French Fries dill pickles chicken salad green smoothies ( I realize this is incongruous to the list ) hummus chapatis Naan bread raita |
I guess I forgot: goat lamb chicken foot broth corn fungus tacos :D(haven't found them yet) Kulfi chiliquiles tacos el pastor arracherra tacos |
I hope we are not the only ones like this on this whole forum. But I do eat very "trendy", and until I get my fill of my current trend, I do want lots of that one food. And it usually is one food I really crave all the time - except for pizza, which is my one constant crave. I am certain that heaven will have a hot pizza tree on every corner of every block! |

Oh yes, I can eat the same thing over and over again for years. It used to be yogurt for breakfast. Right now I cannot get enough fresh spinach. Weird - I wonder if our bodies crave a certain vitamin or mineral? |

Also, btwn all of our various food obsessions, I think we may equal a balanced diet :D. I think there's a metaphor or sumpthin' in there... |

My favorite food is sushi, and I constantly overdo it to where I don't think I want to ever see another piece of sushi ever. Then I change my mind the next day. :D |

Sushi cannot be overdone. EVER. |
I'm pregnant, so the answer is yes. I obsess over stuff all the time. The other day my coworker said something about "being a piece of cake" and I said "OOOH I WANT CAKE!" Yea I thought about that cake and thought about that cake and thought about that cake. The next day I went home and made a white funfetti cake with cream cheese icing. I was satisfied just eating the batter! :D Then the other day another coworker had some yummy smelling coffee. To me, it smelled like syrup so suddenly all I could think about was pancakes. I finally got some IHOP cinnabon pancakes. Satisfied! A couple weekends ago all I could eat is tomato based sauces and I wanted spaghetti. It was 9 AM. I looked at my husband and said "I want spaghetti, do you want spaghetti?" He looked at me really weird and said "For breakfast?" I said, "Yea why not?" and went and made my spaghetti. I ended up taking him out so he could have a real breakfast. :-) I call them my pregnancy cravings of the day. |
I have constant food obsessions too! I will have cravings for something until I'm sick of it! Like sushi but had an obsession for it that lasted a while. Pickles I go thru periods of obsessing about Mexican food I'm now obsessing over Italian Went thru an obsession for crab cakes after visiting Inner Harbor, MD Falafels I've also been obsessing lately over (this one's really bad) cheesey bacon fries |
