500 calories? your body is in starvation mode, and although you're losing weight now? you will put it back on. Your body can not live on 500 calories a day no matter what "supplement" you are adding to it. A quick fix for those that last few pounds is a no carb diet, but even then- it should be diet/nutitrionist/trainer monitored and that's only good for about 1-2 weeks. It's not healthy to do it longer than that. You can lose weight eating healthy and exercising the old fashioned way. A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. Maybe 3-5 the first week if you have a bit more to lose, but it's water weight you're losing anyway and it won't be that way every week. Your body needs fuel to survive, and that's definitely more than 500 calories a day. this diet scares me. I do no recommend anyone to do it. |

Cut the crap, and get back to basic healthy eating. |
Thanks for all the advice guys! My primary is definitely in the loop (I am a diabetes risk, so gotta drop the weight). We actually heard about it from a doctor friend of ours who did it himself and lost 75 pounds. :) We did a BUNCH of research, etc. before you say anything about it, you have to read the book: Dr. ATW Simeons "Pounds and Inches" I know there are a lot of nay-sayers, and that's fine with me. I feel great! And, the HCG helps your body burn it's OWN fat to give you vitamins, minerals, etc - so, I am not starving. It is certainly a lifestyle change, but without the HCG I never would have done it, that's for sure. :) |

But you need to understand this is only temporary, you can't live on 500 calories a day, it's not healthy . You will gain it back, the only sure way is a change of eating habits and exercise . I don't mean to sound like your accomplishment isn't a big deal it is, but the reality of it is, it isn't safe and eventually you will come to see this. Good Luck :) |
Like I said, read the book. There is a whole maintenance plan. My sister in law has kept it off for 6 months eating a normal 2000 calorie diet. :) |
A friend of mine has been on this diet for about six months and lost over 100 lbs. I think he said that he does a rotation now. I really do not know what that means, but he said that he feels better now than he has in years. His blood pressure and sugar levels have came down. He was stroke level before starting this diet. Good luck! You do look great! |

Yeah, you can only do the hcg for 23 - 40 days, no less, no more, but somewhere in there. Then, you have to go on a maintenance phase and can't go on the hcg again for at least 6 weeks. I have heard of some people who do multiple rounds - 4 or even 6 times to lose their weight. I only have 25 - 30 pounds to lose, and I have lost 16, so I am almost to my goal! I don't think I'll have to do it again. My doctor friend did it 3 times I think to get down to his goal weight. |

I'm by no means at the weight I want to be at (I probably need to lose about 20lbs) but I don't believe being vegan makes ANY one healthier, in fact, I think quite the opposite. I believe we need meat. But that's a whole 'nother discussion. :) PS - Walnut Hill-- congrats!!! :) |
I'm sorry for this dude is promoting EATING DISORDERS. I don't care how much weight you lost (congrats btw, but you could have done it other ways) this is NOt healthy habits/behaviour/way of life to lose weight. The doctor is helping you lose weight by inducing FEAR into you. It's very restrictive, let alone the 500 calorie diet. Quote:
Way to make you fear getting "fat" because it is absorbed my merely touching something? Quote:

Eating disorders are a VERY SERIOUS issue, and those that deal with it- would not like to see it promoted as a fad diet. It's an illness and it can kill you. I would not be surprised if more people with eating disorders come out of this kind of "diet" plan. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to do this diet. |
