First off, welcome to YorkieTalk, Lilly and PrincessLilly! A local Seattle Yorkie Meetup group member recommends the boarding place below: http://www.doggiecare.com Also, if you aren't aware yet, there is a Seattle meetup group that meets once a week, here's the link to that: http://yorkie.meetup.com/258

Thanks so much!! I love this website So have you used there pet boarding before?? I am really nervous about leaving my baby with anyone. I don't want Lilly to be bullied by big dogs or harmed. I am a nervous momma. I am traveling unexpectedly and will only be gone 3 days. Thanks again!! Lilly would love to meet other very cute yorkie playmates sometime soon, too!!!

No, sorry, we haven't boarded Yoda at all anywhere. When we go on a trip, Yoda stays at his Aunt's house, and her family just loves him! Is there any local family members that may be able to take care of Lilly for you? The weather is getting nice around here, we look forward to seeing you and Lilly around!

That's so nice of you.... "mydogdiva"!!!!!!!!!!! I am feeling better about this whole leaving situation I did call and ask my vet if they would consider boarding her for 4days max....they still have to get back to me. BUT if they cannot.....I would consider having Lilly stay with someone who has a cute yorkie like Diva!!! It is so tough finding people that can understand yorkies, you know! Thanks sooooo much for the offer, we truly appreciate it ~lilly & lizette

Boarding in Seattle Hi Princess Lilly's human: We take Auggie (our 3 year old, 8 lb. Yorkie) to the Pet Nanny, a very nice woman in the Crown Hill neighborhood of Seattle, for boarding. The Pet Nanny has 2 Scotties of her own, and she specializes in small dogs. She has them in her home to stay; she has a large fenced yard, and the dogs sleep in the house with her, and with her own dogs. Auggie just spent 12 days with her (I know, I know, 12 days!! We missed him!) and has returned tired from hanging out with her dog pack, a little stinky, but otherwise just fine. He's been bathed in the kitchen sink, blown dry, and is sleeping on my lap as I write this. We've left Auggie with her probably 4 or 5 times now over the last 2 1/2 years, and at most there's been maybe 6 dogs boarding there at any given time, but they are all SMALL. The Scotties are the largest; she's had other Yorkies, various other small terriers, poodles, etc., that we've seen. You take your pup's own food, special toys or pillows, and directions. We typically call several times to check in, and she's called us on our cell phones to check in and give a report on how Auggie was doing, too. She does take the dogs to the park, but typically she will link Auggie to one of her own Scotties via short connector leash, to ensure that Auggie is protected by the larger Scottie and that he will not wander off--her own dog is sure to return to her when she calls, so AG will too without fear. She's even emailed us photos of Auggie from his stay with her and her other dogs. She charges $25 per day. The vet is a little less expensive, in my experience, but especially for longer stays, I like to think of Auggie being in someone's home rather than in a cage. You can do a Google search for "the Pet Nanny" Seattle small dog, and you should find her. Or post and let me know you are interested and I'll post her info to you. Good luck in your search for boarding! One of Auggie's Mamas:

I think most areas are severely lacking in boarding facilities that are "furbaby" friendly. I checked them out around here last summer and couldn't believe they actually keep them locked up in a cage all day/night, I am told they let them out 3 times a day to go potty, that sounds worse than prison! I have heard of a place that opened that is actually ran almost like a summer camp for little kids. I am thinking that may be my next business venture. Good luck finding a solution.

| We have a very nice boarding place here. Each dog gets their own room with couch and tv and gets treats and play time and luxury spa and massage. It is really great, they just opened last year. And the best part is, it is cheap. It is only about 20 dollars a day!!!

Hi Tiggerwit! Thanks so much for the offer!! I actually asked my vet who is about 4 blocks away (kirkland) if they could board her for a few days and they said yes It was hard for me to find a facility that was local and that I TRUSTED. Everyone on this site has been so nice. I appreciate your offer. Thanks so much. I will consider you if I ever need a furbaby sitter! ~lizette
